Was out there 8/29....you had it a LOT better. The red tide came in thick and fish wouldn't bite for anything. Did end up hooking 7, landing 5, keeping 2 for 3 guys. 2 small Chinook. NOT stellar, but meat went home. Dad's best friend got a 14lb+ un-clipped Coho to the boat. Awesome fish...but had to go back. Was a monster.

August 2021 Buoy 10 fishing was closer to being dangerous. A lot of really poor boat operating. I contacted Oregon Marine Board and this goofy guy messages me back that it wasn't that bad. I replied back and told the guy we had people blasting through groups of trolling boats every day out there. Not safe at all. Looks like you picked a good area and no boat traffic that we seemed to deal with every day there. We did try to leave the crowds but still had idiots blasting right by us with the whole river to travel. People need to be more considerate of others.

WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THE FISHING GUIDE YOU USED UP THERE?
@ChrisPfish23 жыл бұрын
It was a subscriber, not a guide. Got the nice offer from someone to fish with them.

@@ChrisPfish2 Awesome thanks. do think it would be worth it to tow my boat up there or look for a charter?
@ChrisPfish23 жыл бұрын
@@Thansen2132 not knowing where you live, I am in sf bay area. I would not tow my boat up there for a day or two of fishing. I would hire a guide. If I wanted to go for a week then I would bring my boat.

@@ChrisPfish2 I'm in Reno. I come to the Bay a lot and launch most of the time out of the Berkley Marina. The Columbia River just looked like a lot of fun.

Awesome fishing.... Chris, do you think that Columbia boat could handle the Farallon's ? I have a 2021 165 Summit Alumacraft Tiller. I prefer over a S/C, I have much more fishing space, but have my eyes on the Columbia 22" Tiller. What are your thoughts on one of those in our area?

I remember driving there last August and they were estimating 1.6 million coho going up the columbia for the fall run.

We have to figure out how we band together in California to reestablish a strong salmon hatchery program.

Hey Chris! What was the process like for getting an OR fishing license? Did you get a temp or just go with the annual non-resident license?
@mikeshuck27603 жыл бұрын
It’s very simple. Any sporting goods store or if you plan ahead, go online and order out of state license.

BTW ... When you are fishing "party" rules and you have your limit you are required to hand your rod off to person who is going to tag the fish. Hate to b "that" guy but ODFW LOVES WRITING $$$$TICKETS.

Only experienced boats stacked like that once and it was for a WFO dino bite at the ARW in the mid 90’s. Huge herring spawn and the bite lasted for a couple days. I’ll never forget it! Trolling on the Sac can be gnarly at times during the season.

Man sometimes we are feeding the seals. I've had one take a fish mid fight, and also off my stringer while kayak fishing. They are crafty.
