Hanging Pawns

Calculation can be divided into visualization, finding candidate moves and evaluation. One of those is the reason I sometimes calculate poorly.
Try out Noctie for free go.noctie.ai/ha... Unlike the engine, Noctie is going to challenge you like a normal human would. Use the code HANGINGPAWNS to get Noctie's Premium features at a 64% discount!

Sometimes stubbornness can be a fault. I know you are determined to play every day, but that can actually grind you down. When you are tired, you will have a harder time concentrating and will miss tactics. Maybe take a day or two off. Your viewers will survive.

I don’t know why so many people are being so negative on your channel. I am starting to think they’re trolls or crabs in a bucket trying to pull you down. “Take a break, Stjepan”, “this goal is unrealistic and you will never reach it, Stjepan”, “why do you keep uploading when you lose so much, Stjepan?”. It’s all just noise from weak minded people who can only things if there is no struggle. People who have never stuck to anything in their lives. They don’t understand that it doesn’t matter whether you win or lose if you keep getting better, and they don’t see how well you are actually playing. Ignore the naysayers and do your best. I’m cheering for you!

His goal is realistic over a long timeframe, but it means being able to score 80% against players at his current rating. That is an enormous task.

Hey, "Take a break, Stjepan" is not a negative comment. It doesn't offend anyone.

I find most of the time I miscalculate is because one of my pieces involved in the attack is performing double duties on defense and attack, so when it takes I create a huge opening for my opponent to attack elsewhere. another thing I've seen is during the exchange they get a discovered attack.

I'm 2300 on lichess rapid and Kuros out calculated me too there, I saw Qb4, but I thought c5 works because of bxc5, Bxa4, cxb6, Rxc3. I missed the final move, b7 winning a rook.

The basic mistake? To be too positional, even when there's a slight tactics that creates initiative: just move 7...Qb6 (attacking b2 and d4) and you can breathe more comfortably.
@Miinow

Did you notice the knight is hanging after Bxa4, cxb6? The reason this doesn't work is b-pawn promotes, but this shoulda been calculated.

White got an annoying dark square bind. You kept trying to make ...c5 work when it didn't but you didn't look at something like ...Ne8 and f6 for e5 at all. The nice thing about this plan is it highlights the downside of White's aggressive and positionally dangerous (for you) b2-b4. BTW the best line after 7.Ne5 is the immediate ...Qb6. Keep your head up. I'm in an enormous rut myself with chess.

You had 15...Bxa4, then he has to take your queen with the c5 pawn and his knight is undefended on c3!

Yes that what i think then the pawn move forward again one step to be new Queen. Really hard to deal with that without losing rook.

You play c5 then he takes and you don't even calculate Ba4???cb6 Rc3.The only problem with this is b7 and you lose a rook but first you need to see the line,Qd8 instantly (regardless of what happened afterwards) is like giving up.
@prabhatkiranmukherje
@prabhatkiranmukherje Ай бұрын
I guess he already saw Bxa4 cxb6 and then b7 coming. It took me a while to see it and he didn't mention it in calculations, but Bxa4 is so obvious otherwise that it's pretty clear he saw this line otherwise he would have played it. Bxa4 was his first candidate move when he wanted to play Bd7 and c5 initially, so he 100% saw that line.
@humansareweird2866

@@prabhatkiranmukherje If he had seen it he wouldn't have played c5 in the first place.He kept saying I missed Qb4 (I find nothing wrong with Qa5 either but thats not the point) and then went to d8.
@LG-fp9ji
@LG-fp9ji Ай бұрын
that's a fair comment, I doubt he calculated Bxa4 (although it is very obvious that it loses) because he usually says the lines he sees. He just gave up like he sometimes does

I'm not in his head, but it is easy to assume he calculated it, because of how obvious and forced it is. Qd8 is probably his best chance, keeping pieces on the board. Honestly I don't understand the tone of some of these comments, you're so quick to criticize, as if you enjoyed it...
@LG-fp9ji
@LG-fp9ji Ай бұрын
@@benjamiheras9294 nothing in my comment was criticizing anything, I just expressed an opinion just like you did. Nobody will ever know if he calculated it because there is no way to know, and it's quite unimportant anyway

I restarted to watch your video these days. As of 8.Qa5, many players shouldnt feel comfort. I think you have to unpin c6N by 8...Bd7. The probable continuation is Nxd7 Qxd7 Nb5 (irritating move) Rc8!! This is little bit in favor of Black. All these analysis is by myself without engine. So forgive me, if there is a mistake.
