The fake landlord. Somebody will use their friend or family member to pose as a former rental reference. Watch out for this!

Cause landlord don’t want “high risk” tenants it had little to do with race. If i myself is landlord I want to know how much you make , etc. do you make enough to pay every month ON TIME . That’s important. Why would a landlord rent to just anyone ?

One flat tire may cause a tenant to fix the tire to get to work instead of paying rent in full. Landlord only wants to ensure they get paid on time. Landlords also have bills they must pay on time. Landlords take a risk each time they rent to someone.

I’d say the bank statement thing does not always mean lying. I will cash a check and still pay my rent with a money order every month. I keep my bank statements dry. You’ll see a credit card payment and car payment. Maybe a few subscriptions
