It's hard to believe I've been following you for 5 years. Time sure does fly. I make just under a thousand bucks a month not factoring in possible additional income from KZbin in the unforseen future. I've always enjoyed your channel. Actually, it's my first favorite. No lies. Thx for being so honest about your van life and income. I just retired and will soon be living off social security and a little passive income from investments. I can still make do cheaply because I have no real debt. No debt is key to a less stressful life on wheels. Putting a little aside for vehicle repairs and regular maintenance is important. I hope you can continue your adventures with Joey soon.

That's what I keep saying, if I could manage to scounge up 2k a month remotely (from whatever sources) I could live on the road too. It's just that I get antsy sitting at a computer 8 hours a day (especially for someone else) so I don't think the typical remote jobs are for me, yet my KZbin isn't taking off like I wanted either. But seeing your journey does give me hope!

I love these videos u make off road so to speak; u r just so personable and I love you and Joey so much, you've been such a hopeful inspiration for me as I struggle in my own journey. Since Covid I've adjusted my ideals down from thinking I'd need a huge Pro Master to realizing by watching you and Amanda that my Chrysler Voyager is plenty for me and my dog Foxy. I am 'stuck' in MN rn being a companion to my 90 y.o. dad and wkg FT to pay off debt and saving so that I can somehow afford to live on $800/ mo SS. I am 61 and so far so good, but I'm running out of time as I age and the road is my best bet. I wear my Basic Journey shirt to remind me that all is well and I'm not alone and if u can do it so can i!

So you qualify for Medicaid and food stamps at that income?

I don't qualify for state health insurance. (I'm technically an Oregon resident.) The threshold i think was 700 or 800/month or less. I haven't tried for food stamps so I don't know what that entails.

I’ve been watching since the video for the window shades, so I feel like I’ve been along for the whole ride. We almost walked into each other at the RTR 2 or 3 years ago. I’m about 20 years older than you, and the only “advice“ I’ll give is to think about your employment history and and how it will affect your future Social Security amounts. One hears about how SS will run out soon, but it wouldn’t hurt consider it for the future. *I don’t always follow my own advice, so take it with a grain of salt. See you down the road! 💖🐾🚐🏜️⛰️🌅
