There is nothing wrong with enjoying compliments. 😊 There’s also nothing wrong with complimenting people. It’s not difficult to just be nice to people. Social media is full of mean, grouchy trolls. I’ve never encountered so many mean and awful people as I do with keyboard gremlins on social media! Compliments are great to give and receive! I work from home and don’t get out and about much, but I was recently complimented on Gris Charnel and Velvet Bold. Both compliments were a pleasant surprise, and I was very happy to share the scents and where to find them. 😊

I 1000 % agree with you! People should be kind and give out compliments and smiles - it’s free 😊 I’ve said this before, I come from Hawaii where love language is our language. I will compliment your boyfriend/husband/partner right in front of you and say “you’re so handsome/good looking.” Or “you make a beautiful couple.” I’ve told strangers before “you smell really nice.”, “I love your smile.”, (and it’s very common to hear) “you have beautiful hair.” As well as men telling a woman (or vice versa) “you’re so beautiful.” In Hawaii, men say it with respect. They really mean “I’m not trying to hit on you, but I want you to know that I think you’re very beautiful.” So yes!! Please compliment people. Sometimes a little sentence, a little compliment like “you smell so good.” Can put a smile on someone’s face 😊 Happy New Year to all. 🤗

My love languages are quality time and gift giving. I love getting compliments on my perfume but I wear what I like first and foremost. I love layering Hibiscus Palm and Kayali Vanilla 28. I know you love Angel Share and I layer it with TF Lost Cherry, so good! I’ll have to try Strawberry Shortcake lotion with the Lancôme La Nuit Tresor. I just got the Idole Aura today in the mail on your recommendation. Another one I purchased and am waiting for that you recommended is Dulce Diablo. I’m excited for that one! I have the Alien Goddess Intense and haven’t really reached for it for some reason. Loved the video AND the MOTD. You do your makeup so beautifully.

I agree that we need to be mindful of varying love languages, but even as a person whose love language is words of affirmation, I believe wearing perfume solely for the sake of compliments is an incredible slippery slope. You start veering into territory where your self care and investment is for the sake of other people or for affirming that they’ve noticed you. In such a case, the flip side is true as well. What happens if you wear a perfume and don’t get a compliment? How does that aid you in developing your own unique style and taste? Don’t get me wrong, I love it when people tell me I smell good, and I love telling people they smell good, but I know I’m in trouble when I start wearing something for the sake of receiving affirmation. All I need to know is that I smell freaking amazing. Compliments come and go but self confidence is forever. Either way, lovely video as always, and I simply adore your makeup today.

I bought Miss Dior for the first time in 2022. I do not typically like perfumes with a lot of floral notes, but somehow I love this. And I get loads of compliments when I wear it. If the 2017 version was better than this, I hate that I missed it.

Omg what shadow is on your eyes?!?! 😁 I need it! My most complimented are also Aerin Hibiscus Palm, Navitus Chocolate Queen and Venom of Love, and pretty much all of Kayali's. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. Loved this video! I find Kayali Utopia is in the similar realm as Hibiscus Palm and I love them both 💕

I own the book Five Love Languages and I recommend it to everyone when they want to learn how to please their loved ones. My primary languages are quality time and acts of service, followed by physical touch and words of affirmation. Gifts are nice, but not necessary 😊

I learned that body chemistry has a lot to do with whether you can wear a fragrance or not. I've smelled perfumes on ladies that were to die for - but on me, they smelled like bug spray. I have to try a fragrance on in the store, wear it, walk around with it, and give a couple of days. If I can take home a sample, all the better.

I love getting compliments that I smell good. It makes me feel good to know that I’m smelling good lol…. I’ve gotten compliments from family members and strangers as well . I don’t wear perfume to get compliments I just love smelling good and if someone says I smell good well that just makes my day lol I also have the 2017 version of miss Dior and people love when I wear it :)

Definitely know about the 5 love languages. Read it in college, before I got married and then while working on marriage ministry referred many to read it. The funny thing is I’m not sure what mine is…but primarily mine is acts of service (though I feel super guilty if someone does something for me) and words of affirmation (though I tend to not accept encouragement or compliments well..ha!).

You must try Atlante by Sarah Baker. It's an aquatic oceanic scent. It's on the indie side of things but it's very approachable. Atlante and Hibiscus Palm are my go to summer fragrances.

Anyone with any perfume smells good to someone that's been inside the grocery store for a while. Think about it, the grocery store smells like fish, raw meat & onions to me. lol. Not that you don't smell GREAT, it's just to them, anything smells good. Great Video!
