Most DANGEROUS Hike in Bali?! Nusa Penida Cliff Walk

We stumbled on this crazy hike by accident on a trip to Bali's sister island, Nusa Penida. Even the locals shared our sentiment that this extreme trail was in a different league to other cliff-side walks nearby. I hope you enjoy joining us on Bali's most dangerous hike!

😄 lesson learned… keep a pair of soft climbing shoes in the mini backpack even when going to the seaside 😅 good job holding the camera while getting down that steep drop!

I can assure you the camera was an added but worthwhile obstacle! Soft climbing shoes is not a bad idea in the wilder places of the world..!

I wonder who put the stick barriers in, and how strong are they?

Definitely a local effort. Steps and handholds are carved out of the rock too. Can only imagine what it was like before! The sticks are concreted into place every now and then but it definitely didn't fill us with confidence!

I'm thinking about doing a trip to Bali sometime soon (currently I'm in Vietnam). I've spent a little bit of time on Google, but could you recommend any must-see places or resources you used to find good spots in Bali?

There's a ridiculous amount of things to see/do here. I'd reccomend just nosing around on google maps. Nusa Penida has definitely been a highlight. The northern highlands have the best waterfalls. Uluwatu is great for beach life and surfing. Changgu area is nightlife central and sunset beaches. Ubud is the culture capital - art, shrines etc and like a jungle merged with the town. Amed is apparently great for snorkeling/diving but we haven't been yet. Nearby Lombok and Gili islands are also worth researching!

My goodness😅 ! Scary isn't it. Lesson learned-- wear proper sport shoes when travelling, never know what terrain you may encounter.
