Take this video only as entratainment and curiosity about how i made it only recycling things!
in this video i will show you how to make a underwater breathing apparatus usig only the power of the wind:
yes i made a innovative scuba windturbine
lets start taking an old car air conditioning compressor like this one,
goo.gl/TZCMvd
inside this type of compressor there are 6 small pistons.
is very important to cean very well and wash away any type of oil or gas from inside the compressor!
ince you have the compressor ready.
yuo need to think about a method to attach come blades to make like a wind turburbine.
in this case i made by my self 2 blade using a bid PVC pipe 21cm diameter,
i trace using a marker the shapes of the blades and than i cut erverything using a jig saw.
i took an old kitchen pan .
drill 7 holes.
weld the kitchen pan in feront of the shaft of the compressor.
make sure that spins free.
i also make a structure in metal parts so that the compressor and the blades ara hold strong.
i mont everything on top a flo9ating base "in this case an old catamaran"
i modify a scuba mask: goo.gl/tT3kci
a long tube 15 Meters will connect the compressor that spins usiong the power of the wind to my mask.
is very important to take this video only for entratainment!
never try to use it.
wind can stop and compressed air can stop!
never go deep!
if done in a wrong wat you risk;: Nitrogen narcosis, subcutaneous emphysema and a nice pneumothorax thrown in for good measure
.
i know very well what i am doing!
These stunts are performed by trained professionals, don't try this at home.

If a diver cannot make an emergency ascent from 60 feet on one breath, they do not belong in the water in the first place. Having said this, I will also add that this man's rig is very dangerous.

@@jebbadiah overlord6644 - I never said anything about how deep he was, I was not trying to comment about that. I'm just saying if a diver cannot make an emergency swimming ascent from 60 feet on one breath they do not belong in the water. In fact, I had to do just that to get my original certification back in 1972. My statement was in answer to CIA saying "Wind stops - Dies". That would only be the case if the diver does not know how to make an emergency swimming accent without causing barotrauma. I was not trying to be pedantic. The average person reading the original statement may not know that if an air supply fails, you can always swim to the surface while breathing out. As you ascend, the gas in your lungs will expand and you will be able to exhale all the way up. In fact, if you are breathing any kind of gas at depth, you MUST EXHALE ON THE WAY UP OR YOU WILL DIE! This is one of the classic ways an untrained or poorly trained diver ends up dead. They go for a breath and don't get it, they panic, they swim for the surface while holding their breath, the gas in their lungs expands and then their lungs pop and they end up dead from barotrauma, air embolism etc etc. Students have died in standard eight foot deep swimming pools this way. It does not take much depth, all it takes is holding your breath on the way up. Barotrauma is deadly and it can kill very fast. On the other hand, divers have made it back to the surface from more than 120 feet on one breath, but when you make that fast of an ascent from that kind of depth you have other things to worry about like nasty little nitrogen bubbles in your blood and tissues that can cause pain, injury and death. Here is a link to more than you ever wanted to know about diving accidents. www.diversalertnetwork.org/medical/report/DAN1992DCIreport.pdf The real danger of this rig is not if he gets to breath, it's what he gets to breath when it is working. There are very specific requirements for life support air supplies, and for very good reason. More than one diver has been killed by contaminants in their air supply. I had a buddy get very sick from a bad air fill he got at a bait shop compressor back in the bad old days. It seems the bait shop owner did not think it was necessary to change filters so often, and that oil they told him to use cost way too much, the end result was a contaminated air supply that came close to killing my dive buddy. Anyway, this post has used up way too much time as it is. I give Mr. Rulof an A+ for ingenuity, he has a very cool conversation peace but I beg him not to use his rig for diving. Just not worth it.

The thing with using an air compressor is that you may think it's safer, but you'll end up getting contaminated oxygen in your mask. If you've ever gone through a scuba class, you'll learn that if you try an air compressor, then the air can actually be poisonous and fatal
@michaelc4650
@michaelc4650 5 жыл бұрын
Kelpo Gaming that’s probably true. But I small car tire compressor doesn’t have a tank or anything for air to be stored in and get contaminated. I think you would be fine with a small one that keeps putting fresh air into the tube

Great idea, even tho i think its too dangerous to use a piston compressor because of the oil vapors. Instead i would use centrifugal compressor, which dont need oil, like a turbo, capable of doing 1 bar. And drive the turbo with a big electric motor with pulleys to make the turbo go FAST. Also i would change the mask to be able to equalize the pressure and lastly i would put a good air filter.

I love your imagination and crafting capabilities. The inventor side of me lives this. But From the point of view of a professional diver there is nothing safe about this particular apparatus. But with a few additions I would try it. 1. Absolutely totally clean and change the oil in the compressor to monolic oil. Add on a volume tank and filters in line to adjust for low wind. Then get an air quality test. 2. Use kink resistant gates dive hose with a strength member and attach it to a harness with a quick release so the mask does get ripped off. Add a bailout bottle to the harness and an air gauge on the main supply so you can monitor your pressure. 3. Limit the excursion to a 6 meter hose. 4. People bring up equalization. Some people can equalize without valsava maneuver but a separate mask would allow you to clear a flooded mask without removing your air source. And Use a second stage regulator. 5. Use a dive flag . 6. Don’t encourage people to do this that don’t know a crap ton about diving. This device can kill you.
