but also since they're using baking soda (NaHCO3) there's probably carbon monoxide produced from the electrolysis. Why I think that is because hydrogen burns with an almost invisible flame, not an orange one. However don't worry because when carbon monoxide burns it simply turns back into carbon dioxide.
@Metal_Master_YT
@Metal_Master_YT 2 жыл бұрын
@@mazewindstudios255 I would imagine the orange is coming from sodium ions that have made it from the baking soda, and was contaminated around the project. the baking soda should release CO2 to form sodium carbonate, and then CO2 again to form sodium hydroxide, or at least these are the common stable sodium species that are usually present.

Andrew H well, the way chlorine is formed is the same as hydrogen. Only does hydrogen form at the cathode(negative) and chlorine at the anode(positive). If you were to collect the oxygen you would also have some amount of chlorine in there. My advice: don't do it.

@GenoLoma
@GenoLoma 5 жыл бұрын
I built an HHO (Browns Gas) generator about 10 years ago, and fed the output into my old car.. It more than tripled my mileage, since that car was EFI and fed fuel (gasoline) to the engine based on how the car was travelling.. One evening, just to see how far it would go, I ran the car completely out of gasoline and I drove it 50ks on an empty tank.. burning almost pure hydrogen (with a little petrol vapour).. It finally spluttered and failed, so I switched to the LPG tank fuel and drove home, (via a petrol station).. In the 6 months I ran that HHO system in the car, I covered over 10,000ks (6,000 miles) used about 600 liters of petrol (less than half I would have otherwise), and I didn't have to add any water to the bottle at all.. it used about 15% of the 2 liters I started out with.. amazing system.. incredible amount of energy stored in plain water..
@GenoLoma
@GenoLoma 5 жыл бұрын
@Mik Wri You're a fuckwit.. I bet you're invited to all the good parties, aren't you..? I still have the glass jars I used to to generate the HHO gas. They haven't been used since I took them out of the old car, so go and get stuffed with your shitty attitude, or, better yet, build a system yourself and try it out, you might just find out what I already know.. that I'm right.
@GenoLoma
@GenoLoma 5 жыл бұрын
Oh, and Mik, just last weekend I dusted off those generator jars to show my almost-5-year-old daughter the power of hydrogen.. I hooked one up to an 18 volt battery from my Makita drill and it worked immediately.. after 10 years in a box in the garage.. Bubbling the gas through soapy water means you can gather up some in a teaspoon and touch a flame to it.. the "pop" of just the smallest bubbles is seriously impressive.. want a bigger bang? Try filling a plastic milk jug, (by way of the displacement method using a large water-filled bucket), and then a small birthday candle taped to the side as a fuse.. Stand as close as you like, or dare..
@GenoLoma
@GenoLoma 3 жыл бұрын
@@tynj4173 Get a small clear glass jar, fill it 2/3 with petrol, put it on the concrete and light it.. Now observe the jar from the side, tell me where it's burning.. you note that the flame starts ABOVE the liquid, not ON the liquid. in fact gasoline as a liquid, doesn't burn, because there's no oxygen mixed in with it.. Gasoline VAPOUR is what burns because it can then mix with gaseous oxygen, same as Kerosene, Butane (which is stored pressurised in liquid form), and most other flammable liquids.. So, to answer your question: The Generator breaks water in to Hydrogen and Oxygen, both in gaseous form, these mix (forming HHO) in the collector area at the top of the generator, and are then pushed into the air intake, under the pressure created by the release of more HHO from the water, just before the vehicles manifold. You still have to have 'some' regular fuel in the vehicle (I didn't hook in a switch to turn off the fuel pump for example), so the car still uses a bit of Petrol or LPG, but the HHO gas mixture accounts for a MUCH more powerful fuel, meaning the car revs better, burns cleaner, and the sensors in the cars fuels system then work out that, for some reason, the car is performing better, (it doesn't know, or care, WHY, just that it IS), so it doesn't need to use as much fuel.. however, here's the caveat.. I wouldn't run this system permanently because Hydrogen burns much faster, cleaner and hotter than petrol.. ICE's are designed and engineered to run on fuels which, also by design, are not 'clean', the gunk and oil in petrol and LPG slows the burn time in the cylinders, and helps to lubricate the combustion chamber.. Hydrogen burning as hot as it does will promote conditions where excess heat can eat/decay/corrode the tops of alloy pistons and cylinder walls over time.. but I'm sure an engine could be designed to resist or negate this.. Stainless steel perhaps..? For this reason, I didn't run my HHO system every single day or every single mile, but I did for more than 95% of the total time and distance.. Hope this helps.. :)

@@harleyme3163 thats not how this works but ok. This is a way to turn electricity into hydrogen and oxygen gas. which are potent fuels. Its a converter for one type of energy to turn into another. It doesn't make free energy. It wont make your car go forever for free or replace gasoline. It only converts electrical energy into fuel. The only way this replaces gasoline is if jackasses stop holding back modern nuclear reactor technology. In that case we will have abundant electricity without relying on combustion and without large amounts of pollution, then using that electricity to turn water into HHO, then using that HHO to power machinery requiring fuels which will put out no pollution.

@8:18 Water is leaking out from the nozzle cap. The water has clearly migrated from a water container i.e. bubbler and/or main gas producing cylinder. HHO generators produce a wet gas and any water vapour contained in a flame will foul any weld. My tip for anyone considering HHO, is to dry the gas before use. Perhaps use a condenser and/or maybe run the gas through a dessicant before the gas reaches the nozzle. Imo, the gas produced this way will burn more efficiently.

Awesome, I'd also suggest making the bubbler chamber a little bigger so you can have more room between the surface of the water and the gas line coming out, maybe also put some sort of baffle in between as well so you don't get water coming through the line and into the torch. I noticed in the video there was water dripping from the torch tip and the flame was an orange color indicating to me the flame was being slightly effected by water vapor.

I watch your old Italian video, I understand it just from the visuals, you make hydrogen generator that fills a void above water which pushes the water into another chamber with water and air, if you force feed air into that chamber it starts to back feed the water into HHO chamber, pressurizing it with no possibility off HHO coming back into your mouth tube 💁‍♂️ very cool idea, but very risky having the big chamber of HHO building up, I won't ever create that one but I'm glad you did! Have you ever seen Nighthawkinlight video of simple hho generator with stainless steel wool and a sock, it's soo simple it genius, no need for cutting plates and spacers, which is what puts most people off starting the project..

Manuscript delivered to Patent office was approved, but redone to Patent, to only allow 50% efficiency increase of oil furnace by addition of steam from water line to spray nozzle. Military soldiers off duty during 1950's collected used jeep oil to burn in used oil furnace. They attached water line SS tubing coil in insulated fire pot and by monitoring temperature point would open valve for T fitting to allow steam line mixed in. The steam had been changed to super heated steam with flame on coil. At 1500 degrees F, the oil valve was shut off , allowing A Hydrogen and Oxygen torch flame to continue. Furnace provided constant heat unless water line shut down. If temperature then was reduced, then oil had to restart furnace to get it back up to proper temperature. Motor had dual shafts for 2 oil pumps for 90lbs. each. The highly sensitized H2O at great pressure was subjected to vibration shockwave when exiting pinpoint hole nozzle to AMBIENT. The gases separated and burned with the 10Kv ignition. The lowered dissociation temperature of steam was realized, rather than normal 3-5000 degrees F. A much smaller working burner unit with fire brick surround in large box was shown to senator in under ground parking garage. No further news came afterwards.

This is a simple Electrolyser, you introduce electric current to anode and cathode, thus circulating ions, and create such electrochemical reaction needs high DC current, (mine uses maximum 500amps) just fill with seawater (NaCL+H2O) and introduce more DC current as you will produce H2+ NaOCL (Sodium Hypochlorite), but notes with higher current, you will produce much more NaOCL and H2, of course you need to dillute the H2 with fresh air (you can also install it with small air blower in to product collecting tank for example) and for NaOCL, you can use as bleaching agent (mix with proper solution with NaOH, and disinfectant, effective for marine growth in proper chlorine concentration, unfortunately the disadvantages are NaOCL is easily vaporised thus reducing the concentration. Anyway great experiment, every materials bulit from scratch, keep going with it and you need to design even bigger whole system to crrate even bigger capacity of hydrogen gas.

Easy Flash-back "Arrestor", take 2- 1/4 inch barbed male to 1 inch threaded +1- 1 inch threaded connector. Teflon threads on both threaded piece's. Put together 1 male barb together threaded piece, and threaded connector. Stuff with STEEL WOOL as hard as you can, then stuff other male barb/threaded reducer's wide end, then assembled piece's. Test for Air tightness. Remember to be changing Steel wool every several month's or so depending on usage, KOH or baking soda will collect and clog. This also work's as Scrubber, several in-line will protect an Engine. This will save you from Explosion's, when using GASSES for Torch.. Same Idea, open ended pipe standing vertical, with Steel WOol packed in it, or Fine sand and FIre will only be on Surface of Sand or Steel Wool, Really great idea for heating, saw on YT. That worked last winter for Heating, I had small Plug in, 12 Volt, 2 AMp Pulse width modulator running a 9, 2X2 inch Plate Dry Cell, one Cup of Water per Night, Warm and cozy.

I would suggest changing the bubbler to have a lid that is removed more easily. It is meant to act as a flashback arrester, and if there is a flashback, there needs to be a pop off lid, not a screw on one, otherwise, the whole bubbler will brow up, making it dangerous and defeating the purpose.

This is very dangerous you should always keep the oxigen and the hydrogen saperate right until you need to combine them in your torch. its very easy to do, just saperate the positiv and the negativ elektrode of your dc voltage source in two seperate containers and connecte thecontainers somewere under the water lever with a tube to make an electrical connection. then run the two ouput tubes of your electrode containers in your torch make sure to flush the hydrogenline or better both if you are not sure witch electrode makes the hydrogen so there is no oxigen in your hydrogen line. please make an upgraded video of the device for your and your viewer safty.

Cool hydrogen generator, but I have two comments. Why is the torch flame yellow? Burning hydrogen and oxygen are invisible and can only be seen with an infrared scanning camera. Also, how can it be 5072°F? A torch tip of this type can only reach temperatures of around 2900°F before melting. Aluminum melts below 1000°F, while gold and copper melt just below 2000°F, and glass melts just around that temperature as well. Good luck with your projects, it's fun to watch.

Magnetron is an electromagnetic resonance chamber present in radio devices that require an incredibly high frequency, in order to transmit radio waves at such great distances, or harness the power in a very reduced space surrounded by a specifically very powerful faraday cage made to hear up things in a considerably short period of time without requiring fire... In layman's terms, that thingy inside a microwave oven that makes it heat stuff. Or that thingy in the antennas that sends radio signals to our smartphones.

I call BS... That flame was nowhere near 3000 degrees C... More like 1000c...anyone that understands torches and how to use them know that a yellow flame is never a good thing...actually it's a very bad thing(unless you want low temp flame and impurities are not an issue with what you are using the flame for) and tells you things... It tells you that you are not getting complete combustion and it is starving for oxygen...which means low temps... The yellow flame is a result of small carbon (soot) particles in the flame because of the lack of oxygen...this is because you are using the fuel in a 2to1 ratio...2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen...in theory this should be sufficient to get 3000c temps...but not in practice because of the environment that you are using it in...a 4 to 1 or 5 to 1 ratio is needed to avoid a carbon flame(yellow)...the color of the flame should be blue...you can only get a blue flame with complete combustion when burning fuel...so if u do not see a blue flame something is wrong...using a carbon flame(yellow) to solder would make it weaker because of the impurities of the carbon flame... You should never use a yellow flame from burning fuel for much more than lighting candles and stuff like that
@aasmith6117

Carbon...? What...? The fuel is hydrogen and oxygen; there's no way carbon can enter the mixture. And burning oxygen with hydrogen produces Incredibly hot temperatures like 3000°C.

@@aasmith6117 from the environment dipshit...what you can't read either... You have a very serious lack of understanding of combustion and should shut your mouth cause you are just making yourself look like an idiot...which apparently is something that you have gotten quite good at with all the practice of being an idiot..yel(low) flame means low temp..and incomplete combustion...and if you man up and apologise I will even share some knowledge with you...if not all of us will just continue to 👉 and 😁 at you... After all you did notice what I said in my original comment right? Nope.. I don't think so
@metou3072
@metou3072 6 жыл бұрын
@@aasmith6117 just because you are such a dumbass I will learn you something today... Consider it your Xmas present from yours truly...oxygen has a unique property...oxygen is paramagnetic...which means that when oxygen is in the presence of an external magnetic field...it creates it's own magnetic field to oppose the external magnetic field...everything has a magnetic field because everything is made of the same exact things.. This is why oxygen is able to combine with so many other things...he is not making enough oxygen to prevent this from happening.. Which is why I said 4to1 or 5to1 is needed(in practice ) for complete combustion and the temps of up to 3000c(about 5200f)..water is 2to1...which will only give you temps of about 1000c...just research why yellow flame is not good when burning fuel...your wasting fuel
@metou3072
@metou3072 6 жыл бұрын
@Autistic Boy please show me where I said that burning oxyhydrogen produces carbon...yellow flame means incomplete combustion of the fuel...its not the correct fuel to oxygen ratio...the color of the flame when burning a fuel tells you things...yellow flame means low temp because of incomplete combustion...which causes carbon monoxide because of the incomplete combustion ..you need to have the correct fuel to oxygen ratio for complete combustion...which this man clearly does not...the yellow flame tells you that...your "clean" energy is only when you have complete combustion with the correct fuel to oxygen ratio...otherwise it's not efficient and wasteful
@aasmith6117
@aasmith6117 6 жыл бұрын
@@metou3072 Jesus christ "im going to learn you something". How about you shut the fuck up. You obviously know nothing if you resort to calling names for no reason. The reason that flame is yellow is due to impurities in the air burning. Not because of whatever shit you're talking about. It is indeed burning at 3k celcius because it's a mixture of pure HHO. Educate yourself before playing the big man.
