Yeah, it was absolutely winnable. Seems like he decided that he already lost when he left alone and thats why it ended like this

Not great play, lots of silly errors, so many failed torp drops and even used torp planes to get ships to turn away from the ship launched torps... genius. then blue lining, but still offering too much side. Damage was ok but anyone can get lucky once in a while. There was nothing that indicated this captain was doing much of thinking his way through this battle.

That was one of the most frustrating games I've watched in awhile. Horrible torp angles with planes going in head-on for reasons I cannot understand on the Soyuz, not leading torps properly by not expecting the other ships to weave and dodge, etc. Could have sunk the Nagato multiple times if they'd known how to actually use torpedoes.

A bit of a tendency to use the torpedo bombers to get the enemy ships to sail AWAY from his other torpedoes, rather unfortunate to see.
