Thank you for this video! Would it be possible to use this technique to install HA on the SSD drive and next boot from the SSD drive?

@@berttammer4900 how would the SSD be connected? If you are using a PI hat via PCIe connection, then it would work.

It's safe to run HA on the SSD card? Someone in the web says that SSD isn't reliable and is preferable use a permanent nvme SSD
@SmartHomeCircle2 ай бұрын
@@stapernazza I guess you mean micro SD card. Yes.. its better to install HA on an nvme since micro SD cards fail over time. It all depends on the amount of reads and writes to the micro sd card. If you are starting off with HA, you can start with an micro sd card and then later move to an nvme setup.

can you list the parts of your pi ... was that a kit or did you piece it out?

I bought them separately. I have added the components in the video description as well as links to buy them.

Not sure whether i prefer just plugging the drive into my computer and doing it that way, just then it saves having to plug the pi into a monitor and keyboard and mouse

@@michaelthompson657 ya.. that is always an option. This is one of the new features from raspberry pi.
@michaelthompson6573 ай бұрын
@@SmartHomeCircle yeah I assumed so, and I also assumed it takes away the need for another computer?
