Yes, the older dog immediately feels rejected. They should always be embraced at the same time as the reveal. Probability is the older dog won't be resentful to the new one.

The guy at 11:40 is an asshole for forcefully pushing the other dog away while it was just trying to check out the new puppy. That dog wasn't't doing anything wrong to get pushed like that. I sincerely hope that the rest of the family are decent people to offset the POS dad.
