@@williamd1891 Seems pretty normal to me. I was running a building restoration project with all volunteers. We had one of the best builders in the area donate countless hours. But, he refused to have anything to do with design or construction. He was all in on the demo. Said after spending so much of his time building houses, it was nice to get to do the other side.

I’m 70. So it was a long time ago, but as a kid my dad took me to figure 8 races. They weren’t derbies but there were good crashes. IMO, Hillbilly would be a fierce demolition derby competitor.

I used the sledgehammer, a tree, and a 3 ton puller to straighten out the back of my 91 explorer. The Explorer left rear corner was pushed down 6-8” and now the new rear hatch fits well👍🏻

I lived in Heber City for 20 years and used to go to that derby every year (spectator). Apparently it's gotten bigger if it takes 2 nights. It was always a 1 night event from about 5 pm to almost midnight. Thanks for the memories.

Love the derby. Reminds me of when I was a kid and we did demolition derby with our dirt bikes. Didn't hurt at all. I'm ferfectly pine. No dain bramage at all.

Dude, that is sick! I don't think anyone understands how freaking hard it is to win a derby with $20k on the line. You have people come in from all over the country, some who have $30k race motors and transmissions in their vehicles that they just swap out into their new cars after every race, all kinds of gnarly stuff. That is impressive as hell!!

The last derby I was in I got third place with a gremlin! Put the original gas tank where the back seat was supposed to be and filled it with water and used it as the radiator. Takes awhile to heat up 20 gallons of water. Also Lincoln locked the rear and flipped it end for end which changed the direction it rotated which gave me three gears in reverse and one forward. Like I said got third place. A lot of rules have changed since then lol. Good video
