You should take note of all the views you missed out on (and were very disappointed to miss seeing). In the future years you can come back to just that section of the trail… see the view, relive the wonderful times you had on the AT.

I was in a deep fog on top of a big hill in big sur a couple weeks ago and it really tripped me out...i also really enjoyed the magic of it, but didn't bring the right gear and was soaking wet so could only enjoy so much. I'VE STAYED THERE A FEW TIMES, with good experiences. One year there was an outbreak of NoroVirus. A small group of thruhikers had contaminated each other as they hiked together. During the night several hikers threw up. I imagined what it must have been like to travel on the Mayflower as it crossed the Atlantic. One of the hikers, a young female went by the name Chaos. She was very dehydrated and developed an electrolyte imbalance. Bob Peoples from Hampton Tenn. and Dennis Cove came up and took her to his hostel. She was one sick girl. With his help she recovered quickly. A week or so later I saw her at Trail Days as if nothing happened. Even without the barn, it is a great place to tent and water has always been available. The views of the night sky and electrical storms are worth a stay. I am glad I was able to stay there.
@jamesadams2334 Жыл бұрын
The barn (shelter) was also in a movie but I don't remember the name. I do hope you get to go back to the Roan Highlands. I think it is the prettiest place south of the Mason-Dixon Line. On Round Bald without the fog, you can see 50 miles, 360* and it's just wave after wave of mountains. geek

The videos just keep getting better! You seem so happy ! I love that you are enjoying the while trail experience…the nature and also the community and culture of the AT, and that you are going the extra mile to share it all with us…many hikers only show the view of the trail and where they leave from and where they end up (nothing wrong with that…) but you make us understand what it really feels to hike and also what different zero days and places that you stay are like; right down to hiker clothes modeling!! 👍🏻and thanks for keeping it real and very interesting.

First time caller/commentor, but have been watching a while now. Main comment:make your own rules! Those who r watching you appreciate your path, if you will. And not only will that make all the difference (Frost fellow), but it also makes it more genuine without following unspoken or unwarranted rules. You're doing a great job and it's appreciated! Sorry about the memory issues on your phone. Please provide some hacks as I've got memory (brain) issues I'd like to solve too! 😊😅😂❤

I am really enjoying your hike. My gosh you just don’t see such polished videos being published while on the hike. Your sound leveling is even throughout, you go to the trouble of adding fade in and fade out music at times, not overdoing it. And above all, you’re not a pretentious diva like many of your contemporaries doing long trail documentaries.

Hello! Not sure if you remember - my husband and I were section-hiking the AT this year, and we met on the free shuttle bus from Dick's Creek Gap to Hiawasee, and we were also at the same shelter just after the GA/NC border (Rob & Mimi, the Australian couple - we were also there with the Australian family). We left the trail at Hot Springs as we only intended to walk around 4 weeks. I have been missing the AT terribly and have been experiencing the trail through vlogs on KZbin back home, and I came across your channel! It's been really lovely to follow along through your videos. Wishing you the best of luck for Katahdin, I'll be following along on your adventures (ps the clothes at the Fontana Hilton were ours! Gave me a giggle to see them hanging up in the video)

I got concerned with the comment on Soft shoes or feeling rocks. I hope you'll get a better of hiking shoes by the White Mountain National Forest. Mount Washington is nothing but rocks. Each step is up. Then down the same. But once above the treeline, then you'll see the most memorable view! 🤠

Hi Maddie What I don’t understand is this was your choice And everyone else that decided to do the AT so I don’t get who makes the rules on don’t take zero Days. I know if I did this I would commit to the walk but I would also take as many days off as I please Sorry ( zero days) I don’t understand that. Anyway you be safe and relax when you want.

My main worry is finishing the northern most section when it’s really cold! And if I take too long down here, I’ll make things harder for myself later. It doesn’t really matter to me how slow other people perceive me to be, but I didn’t really explain that very well in the video!
