Behind the smiles and charm of Hollywood’s biggest stars in its Golden Age, a dark truth lingered. Some of the most celebrated actors were far from the heroic roles they played. Men who, with a single glance, could win over audiences, but in private, harbored twisted secrets. Abuse, manipulation, even violence. These weren't just stars-they were predators hiding in plain sight. Their actions haunted the lives of those around them and shaped the industry in ways the public never knew.

Barbara Stanwyck was the most beloved actress of the silver screen era, by both fellow cast mates and especially by every crew she worked with. If any co-stars had a problem with her, the problem was _theirs._ Her inclusion in a list like this is beyond ludicrous

Let’s not mix up Stanwyck with Swanson…or The other actresses mentioned…movie stories are fiction, acting is pretend or make believe.❤😂😢😊 11:26

Oh, come on! As if most actors aren't questionable morally. The rest of us have caught up with them, have we not? Lana Turner was NOT 'evil', just another narcissistic, fickle, substance-abusing screen goddess of her time with predictable, if in her case unusually prolific, scandals. I don't believe she even killed Stompanato, I believe it is as been presented and decided legally; it was the daughter. She was frightened into believing Johnny was going to kill them.

I take umbrage with the inclusion of Dietrich, Davis, and Stanwick. If all there is is that they were opinionated, dedicated to their craft, ambitious, and demanded excellence from themselves and those around them, they would be celebrated if they were men.

I don't admire anyone - who lives with gangsters and who are prone to violence. If you have a child esp a girl - you are jeopardizing their well being. There was considerable discussion that she had killed her gangster boyfriend and her daughter took the fall, cause as a 14 year old would easily get off. People like this should never have children - they can screw who they want - but protect children - and if you don't you are vile.

Never thought she could act. While pretty, she sure wasn't one of the great Hollywood beauties. When you have relationships with gangsters, you are bound to have problems. It is good thing that he daughter took the blame for killing her boy friend.

Just because Swanson was an outspoken one, does not make her an evil woman. Women did not have the best positions at that time. Same for Bette Davis. She was amazing!

Joan Collins: it should be noted that Joan had 2 more daughters, adopted twins. The twins hated Christina and said it she, Cristina, who was jealous of what Joan and had always wanted those things for herself. She wanted to be a famous star, although she had no talent whatsoever (acknowledged by everyone in Hollywood at the time) and wanted the money, although she didn’t think she should work for it. The twins say that Cristina’s tales were nothing but lies and that none of that stuff happened. The twins had a good relationship with Joan, up to her death and were included in the will.
