The most expensive SNES game I had ever bought would have to be "Mega Man 7", which I had purchased for $60 at a used video game store back in 2007, and I wouldn't be surprised if its value has greatly increased over the years as a result.
@KaylaJoyGunn2 жыл бұрын
The only really expensive game I ever had was also MM7, I got it for $10 or so when our local rental store changed hands in the late 90s. I gave all my cartridge games and systems in a big box to a ghetto kid years ago. Then I walked to a retro store and saw MM7 for sale for $200 and I realized maybe I didn't make a smart decision.
@jupreindeer Жыл бұрын
For some reason, most Mega Man games are hard to find. Never really known why, either. Did Capcom really go to the crazy lengths to make over a hundred titles (The NES six, Game Boy 5, S-NES with 7/X series/believe Soccer, PlayStation titles that include X and those RPG's, that whole Nintendo portable line that was slightly Pokemon-like and a ton more for other consoles. I don't even know what the Mega Man ZX series came out on.) and seemingly made a lot of them as Limited Releases. I only found Mega Man 6 when a store was going out of business and when they tore out the back-room shelves, they found it laying about on the floor.

And what is ridiculous is that the game is so well constructed, it really has no need for that companion guide. Why, the game even has a build in guide that is so overbuilt, there are lines in it that very few have ever seen. Which includes the lines that even the programmers missed in translation.

And that is something the modern generations may never get a chance to experience. The thrill of finding great games at super prices, simply because some rental store has stopped making profit by nightly rentals of the title. Oh, there still are a few chance places. Dracula X is a bit of a weird one. I liked it a lot as a kid (I much preferred the vibe of it to Super Castlevania 4 weirdly) but after playing Rondo of Blood - it's pretty hard to go back to it. Its just a huge downgrade in almost every single area sadly! Luckily between emulation and the Turbographix mini there's loads of ways to play RoB now!
@thatvideogamesshow2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, Rondo of Blood is so much better!
@clawofthefallen2 жыл бұрын
I have a soft spot for it because while it's a nerfed Rondo of Blood, it's still very challenging and it's almost it's own thing. For a snes release it's not bad at all, specially since most people had no idea about Rondo of Blood until Symphony came out (even after that most people had no idea). Then it only really got a proper localization as an unlockable extra game on Dracula X Chronicles on the PSP and that PSP port is the basis for the one used all over modern systems (except the Wii Virtual Console that was an untranslated japanese PC-Engine port).

Found a copy of Final Fight Guy in a small shop, it was a reproduction as the official one is the type that's way out of my price range, so he ended up offering to sell me that SNES cartridge for 20 $$ but he did tell me that it was just a repro version, but I beat the games without technical issues, so I'm now having suspicions the dealer might have sold me an official version for 20 $$ by mistake... Turns out that, no it was a repro in the end, but it looked and acted like a pretty well made repro... Either way, 20 $$ for a repro still is a decent deal, especially when it's working without technical issues, and the dealer was honest about it... If only he had sold me the official version for 20 $$ by mistake it would probably had been a deal to remember....

I used to collect games until a I saw a video that changed my whole perspective on it. Nobody knows how many copies of these games actually exist or how much they sold when they were released. So they’re rarity extends from a lack of reliable information rather than concrete evidence that they’re rare. The prices people charge for “rare” game are essentially pulled out of their ass.
