With regards to getting your vehicle searched, try delivering to AWE Burghfield near Reading. I HATED having it on my route as it'd take an hour to get in and back out. I'd have to park in a waiting area while I took my delivery paperwork, ID and mobile phone(which I had to put in a small locker) to a security office where I'd be given a pass to place in the window, then go back to my lorry and wait while someone checked the cad and checked the back where the cargo was, even having a sniffer dog one time, as well as someone going round with those "bomb" mirrors checking under the vehicle. Then I'd have to wait for an escort to lead me through the bug security gates with armed police and take me to where I was dropping off. Once I'd had whatever I was delivering taken off I'd have to wait for the escort to take me back to the security area, give back my pass and retrieve my phone and then I could leave. This was all on top of having to do multi-drop around Reading, Thatcham and Newbury(and a lot of places in between), usually around 12 drops, all coming out of a depot in Essex by the Dartford crossing.
