You recommended Once Upon A Mattress for my kids a few weeks ago....We just went to NYC last week and my 12 y/o daughter absolutely loved it. She loves musicals this was perfect for her first Broadway show. My 10 y/o son liked it as well, but a little long for him. Got my daughter tickets to see Hamilton's touring show for Christmas. It's her favorite, she's gonna be so excited. Thanks for the great videos.

My first Broadway show was Annie and Cinderella when I was 6. I don’t remember much about the trip but those shows are near and dear to me now because of it

Wicked was my first show in Chicago as well as on broadway. I was about 11 or 12 when I saw and it was the launching point of my love of theater. My 4.5 year old saw Lion King earlier this year and loved it! She can’t wait to see Aladdin next time we go see her aunt who works on Broadway!

Kate and I both. I wore out my VHS copy of Sweeney, which was my intro to musical theater at age Ten.

Had some pre teens by us at & Juliet. They were standing up singing and dancing like it was a concert the whole show. It was a bit rough.

Not technically Broadway, but Radio City Rockettes are a great first time show for littles. I saw them when I was 6 or 7, and once my mom and grandma knew I could handle that they took me to other shows like You’re A Goodman Charlie Brown, Beauty and the Beast, and 42nd Street.

Les Miserables at age 8 all I or my mom knew about the show was the song castle on a cloud. She thought she had traumatized me until intermission when she asked if I wanted to leave and I set I had to see what happens next

I think of some of the shows I saw as a small child and boy howdy the stuff that just flew STRAIGHT over my head 🥲

I'd be curious to know what everyone's first Broadway show was and at what age? I saw the Lion King at probably age 8ish and don't really remember many specifics of that experience. I had other theatre experiences closer to home in the meantime but the next time I saw a show in NYC was the OBC of Hairspray at 13/14 years old and that I remember vividly.

Mine was Beauty and the Beast at 8 with Christy Carlson Romano as Belle. Next one was Wicked at 11 and I remember that one more. Shoshana Bean was Elphaba, Megan Hilty was Glinda, Ben Vereen was the Wizard, and Rue McClanahan was Madame Morrible. I know it’s not on Broadway anymore, but Mary Poppins was my favorite Disney on Broadway adventure. So grateful my mom introduced me to Broadway (and theatre in general) as a child!

@@ThexImperfectionist mine was You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown at the Golden Theatre (with Anthony Rapp and Kristen Chenoweth) when I was about 8.
