in fact, not a convincing explanation at all, at least for eric chen's trick, cuz if you have ever watched chen perform on penn and teller fool us, he didn't use any screen in the paper square, and he moved it about in fact, no black card, because he used completely different mechanism of showing the cards and you can see the table is empty. and man penn and teller has been studying chen's fism performance for over 3 years and still when chen performs it again it fooled them. how can he fool penn and teller 2 greatest magician of all time and not fool this guy with the video? is the creator harry houdini or david blaine or chris angel?
