Definitely do that comparison. If it even comes close to the bigger brands on the numbers, it wins because of the price. There is no reason to spend an extra $300 if you don't have to.

Automatically gave a thumbs up for reviewing TourEdge because I'm a shill and TourEdge is actually a great brand that is severely underrated. Honestly glad they don't sponsor too many tour players because it helps keep the prices reasonable. Bought a C722 and loved it so much that I bought a C723 the next year for fade/draw tweaking (after my old TaylorMade Stealth face popped off on a 300yd carry).

Rick, I remember a few years back you got a Big Bertha in the hands of a high handicapper for them to test. Would love to see more of that with these more forgiving driver models since you have to figure the bulk of them will be in use by 20-30 HCP golfers like myself. You have a great swing and can make any driver work…let’s see how they work with those of us that have very imperfect swings. Great video as always!

Got mine a couple of weeks ago. It does sit slightly (very slightly) closed at address. I knew this going in as most forgiving drivers do, not all of course, but I know tour edge well. Because i anticipated this, and usually hit 9 degrees of loft, I purchased the 10.5 knowing I would dial it down a degree and open that face back to perfectly square. Couldn’t have worked out better and this driver is a beast on mis hits, it’s wild how forgiving it truly is.

Try the “C” model. I’ve been playing c721 for a few seasons now. Definitely better than my previous callaway rogue driver. Way more control. And the E model is set closed and more forgiving. The C is still incredibly forgiving, but easier to keep straight, or see that little fall to the right. I love it, and like you said, for the value…

Cant agree more. One gen old can go for up to 50% off, especially on less popular brands eg Cobra, Srixon etc, all of whom make excellent drivers. And as everyone knows, driver tech is pretty much maxed out. Its just tweaks on sound/feel, and looks now, and maybe fractional benefits in terms of forgiveness year on year. If you are happy with off the shelf drivers, why buy new when you can get the same performance 2nd hand at a fraction of the price. Only proviso would be if you are getting fitted for a specific shaft/head combo, then that might be hard to find.

Sounds a great driver, but having checked the Tour Edge website, the actual cost is £316, after you add shipping and duties and the wrench, which most brands include total price is almost £470. That puts it close to the TM QI and the Callaway Paradym, two brands much more widely known and trusted. What a shame, I really wouldn’t mind trying this club, but nowhere in the UK seems to sell it….

@firacingast
@firacingast Ай бұрын
Well they're marketed toward the average golfer and senior golfers. Their shaft options tend to be lacking, so for anyone with a swing speed above 95mph, they're probably better off with a different driver. But they're phenomenal clubs for the market they're trying to capture (average golfers and seniors). A far, far, far better value than XXIO; which are ridiculously overpriced. XXIO tends to be seen as a premium brand. I think they're a premium ladies brand, but I have quite literally never fitted a man to XXIO clubs. Srixon, their parent company is almost always better value and better performance.

One has to keep in mind that a lot of Rick‘s videos he is swinging at 110 to 111 mph which means anywhere from another 3 to 6 yards of carry distance if he was to swing at 111 mph. That bumps the carry and total distance numbers up to where a lot of the other drivers that are not even 10k are barely making it to. That means that for this price being almost half of what the bigwigs are charging, this could be the driver of 2025! I would surely not pay double the price to get an extra two or 3 yards of something else. Would love to see head-to-head against not just the other 10k drivers but some of the other top models had 111 mph speed on a good day and see how they perform.

As a big fan of Taylor made equipment have recently leaned away mainly because of the ridiculously higher prices.
