Eather way i think it would not work because rhyme used Chicken game.(The card states the player with the lower LP takes No demage)So that means no effect or battle demage. And rhyme had chicken game out with nearly half JRKs LP.

Masquerade's effect is not a burn effect per say. It's a card that adds a cost to the opponent's activations. You pay the life points to activate the card or effect. It is not considered damage.

I think overall swordsoul is more annoying to deal with while despia has potential when paired with different archetypes which lack the support to truly shine

Despia isnt close to full power yet. The tcg has quite a few cards that we need in MD like brandet fusion etc. Also swordsoul is missing a few pieces. That and the fact that zoodiac drident is still on 1 and fireformation tenk on 3 in master duel allows tribrigade to remain the top deck for now. That will change soon enough though since despia is about to get even more support that will arrive in MD at some point

Honestly SwordSoul tenyi and dryhoes is top tier deck right now. Also tell him that the masquerade dragons affect can only be used when it's fusion summoned. Once you bring it back all effects are basically not active, because it was not fusion summoned to get the effects.
