Nice video! I own a KoT and a Duellist. I find myself reaching for the Duellist every time. I recently removed the KoT from my board and put a Walrus Audio Warhorn/Ages pedal in its place, which I’m really enjoying. I’m not getting rid of the KoT, though. It would have been great to see the Protein included here, since I see it showing up on more and more boards lately, but I know you can’t include every pedal in one video.

Very hard to say. All pedals are great. The KoT surprised me how much gain it can pull off. Somehow, the Duelist had the most "forgetable" tone from this video. It kinda was not special in any way, to be recognized among these pedals. Gladio and Double trouble sounded most unique today.
@KrisBarocsi3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Stan! Everyone shows the KoT as a super low gain mid-humpy drive. It’s so much more and actually I prefer it’s mid-gain tone too it’s low-gain sound. It cleans up perfectly with the guitars volume knob, so why set the gain on the pedal super low. 😆

Had a KOT, but could get the same sounds and playing feel with my 50$ Caline Burst pedal - see demo on my channel. From the pedals shown I thought the Coppersound Foxcatcher was a big surprise and delight - really very great sounding and perfectly blanced. Everybody is raving about super glassy sounds...but listen to SRVs recordings, especially from the beignning...I think most of the newer pedals exaggerate something that there never really was in that way the industrie wants us to belive it was!
@joesaxon65665 ай бұрын
Here is a lot of gain on the KOT and others in the 2nd round but the Gladio got like no gain, what's up with that?
@KrisBarocsi5 ай бұрын
Actually from 4:01 that is a pretty high gain Gladio tone with the strat. The pedal has two fairly low gain sides but as shown here if you stack them you can get lots of gain.

Double trouble clean side is phenomenal. Other than that most blues breakers sounded similar. And I just realised that the KoT doesn't sound at all like a BB. And it does have a mid hump. Not TS level but there's a clear hump in the mids that is simply not there in the classic BB. I am looking to get a KoT and a Soloist at some point, while the gladio SC will be soon on my board. Right now among others I own a protein and I am super happy with it

Those pickups reveal more of the differences and for that reason seem to make more sense for low gain sounds / comparisons. More presence, less compression. That being said, I dig both hb's and singles. Cheers!
