I love the fashions prior to 1960’s. The fit, the style, everything about it is fabulous! Now fashion today is like wearing a baggy sack.

You skipped the BEST dress in White Christmas, which is the pink chiffon dress Vera-Ellen floats around in for The Best Things Happen When You’re Dancing 💃

I was just saying this year that this scene is underrated. I love the song and the choreography, and yes, the dress

I love that last one, with the red dresses. It inspired me to make a Christmas in Australia (think 35-45°C 🥵 ) version of it. Lighter weight cotton blend red fabric. Short sleeve, mid thigh. And white fluff! Fluff! Fluff everywhere! I loved that dress. I grew to old for it, so then my daughter adopted it. I think the fluff fell to bits after about 20 years of Christmas dinner wears. Merry christmas to you and your team. May all your designing wishes come true. 🎄🎁🎅🏼

I know I'm really late to the party, but 💚❤I love all the movies that you are looking at for fashions at Christmas/ in Christmas movies I just wish they had more movies with fashions like these and also patterns of these clothes. Sorry but I am really in love 1930's-1950's ❄🎄❄Thank you for sharing all these🤶

I love Christmas in Connecticut!! But I don’t think Elizabeth settled for being a housewife at all! She was in love with the sailor because he was adventurous and an artist. She was marrying him for who was. The complete opposite of her boyfriend with the farmhouse! I’m sure they would have lived a completely different life. Totally agree with your fashion picks!

On my bucket list:White Christmas, Vera Ellen "the Best Things Happen When You're Dancing" pink dress. Andy Williams TV Christmas Specials 19th century carolers. I recently finished a Pilgrim hat made of a white fleece microfiber towel. I hope to make a red cover for it in time for Christmas for a Mrs Santa Claus hat that will have the white fleece showing through at the tip and the rim. A red and white fleece capelet would be nice.

You picked my favorite Christmas movies and fashion picks. You did miss one in Holiday Affair. The New Years dress at the end of the movie. Sweetheart neckline, puffed long sleeve ruched and pointed and a skirt that is high-low and gathers in the back only like a classic walking skirt. I am guessing it was red. ❤️

Love the costumes in "White Christmas". I think some of the best examples of how well Edith Head pays attention to details is the costumes on the "extras". Pay attention to the extras in the engagement party scene and the dinner scene at the end. Not a bad dress in the bunch.

Awesome list and commentary. I also looooove White Christmas and Its a Wonderful Life during my holiday season. One of my favorite dresses was Judy's Minstrel dress. But I also adore the sisters costume.

You may also already know this but Cary Grant was originally cast to play the husband, but he said if he couldn't play the angel he wouldn't do it. He's my all time most favorite hollywood crush.

Great choices! One that I appreciate is the teacher from A Christmas Story. She's not glamorous but it's an 80's movie getting the 40's right (I think). It wouldn't surprise me if her dresses are real vintage.

I was so worried you wouldn't include Christmas In Connecticut. I should have known you would! :) And I have a coat just like hers. Bought on layaway because it was a whopping $35! While I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it now, it was my first vintage purchase and was a kind of coming of age as a teenager. Memories!

LOL Also "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" initially said, "it may be your last". Judy Garland didn't want to sing that, and they changed it to "let your heart be light". I'm gonna agree with Judy there. LOL THis all comes from watching TCM LOL

Stanwyck only wanted Edith head to dress her because Edith knew how to minimize her long waist and make her proportions as gorgeous as she always did. I do think an above comment is true she never married the guy in the end to be the housewife, it’s because they had a spark!

That was fun.....you did great synopses on some of the older movies that I hadn't heard of. I do have to agree with one of the other commenters though.....that it would have been nice to see longer or more clips of the fashion from the movies. I do realize there is only so much that can fit into a limited time frame and I enjoyed watching this. As far as favorites, I used to watch White Christmas every year and never had enough. Until I read a story about the "real" Bing Crosby and that was that 😒

I have to say I was a little disappointed. The shots of the fashion were so short that if I blinked, I missed them. You did not have to concentrate so much on you, but on the fashion moments you were talking about in the movies - whether a still or film clip. I'd rather see the pic of what you're talking about then see you talking about it. Otherwise, I agree with your pics and what you had to say.

It's her channel, if you don't want to see her then don't watch! Jealousy is so unattractive!
@jenniferzayerz9907
@jenniferzayerz9907 3 жыл бұрын
@@KittysBunny8 It wasn't jealousy, I love her videos, but when you are talking about iconic fashion moments, it only makes sense to show it for longer than 2 seconds so people can see what you are talking about. It was a suggestion and if she can't take criticism, which I'm sure she can, then there's no point in doing the video. I agreed with her choices but had to go back and rewatch and pause at the pics to see what she was talking about. You are the one full of hate.
