Aw, I love Gertie does Dress History! I love all the KZbin dress historians, but there's not a lot going on for anything after 1930, I'd love to see more of this!

Love wearing aprons, especially pinafore styles. I also love jumper dresses and I never really connected the two. But, yes, you are right! Thank you.

Golly, I grew up wearing pinafores, mom sewed then for all three of her daughters. She also had a wonderful hand made collection of hostess aprons. We all grew up stitching little handkerchiefs with embroidered flowers with fine rolled hems. Girl you take me back!

I really loved the video! Especially since my mom wore pinafores all the time growing up in the 50's, and now I'm sewing similar things in the Lolita style. It's amazing to see how fashion has evolved and I'd love to see more Gertie Dress History! ^-^

You make fashion fun. I am way past this look but I love seeing you in it and it suits you so well. You are a fashion treasure! Thank you for bringing back some style again to women's clothes it has gotten very unattractive in the last few decades.We used to make those gingham aprons in home economics class back in the 60's had to embroider it too. Mine was lavender gingham. Great memory. Thanks!😄

Gertie! Such joy from your sewing help, your historian side and your love of the designs and patterns of the clothing I grew up thinking was the very height of glorious fashion. I thought it would be so great when I would finally become an adult and thus be able to wear those Pat Perkins dresses, lol! Oh, and I once owned that very half-apron pattern -- memory lane.😀😸💖

I really loved this video since I absolutely adore pinafore dresses! Is there a pattern for the apron behind you?
@GertiesWorld2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the apron on the dress form is a combinations of our patterns. The bib portion is from our Loretta Shorts Pateron pattern. charmpatterns.com/loretta-shorts-pattern/. The skirt is the Charm Stanwyck skirt. charmpatterns.com/shop/stanwyck-skirt/
