Hello, these are usual fragrances where everyone knows about it. I was looking for those french little bottle perfumes that when you put a dropp in your skin, everyone would ask what are you wearing? So very high quality perfumes, where are those hidden?🤔

I am so glad you included Arpege in this video! My mama passed away yesterday at 86 and she loved this perfume! It was the first designer perfume my daddy bought her and the smell to me is home because it was her signature! I have applied it today in her honor and it will never leave my collection! I love Mon Guerlain also and my favorite of the Cocos is Coco Noir, love Allure also (I definitely have French fragrance love in my blood)! Edit: I did not know the history of Arpege and now it is more precious to me as my love for fragrance and beauty is definitely a gift passed to me by my beautiful, classy mama! I so appreciate you sharing the backstory of such a beautiful memory!

I understand about the Chanel No. 5. A friend of mine could not cry at his mother's death until he embraced a friend of hers at the funeral, wearing it on her mink coat. Then he burst into tears. I think all of our mothers adored the scent, and I buy it for my 90 year old mother still! I used to wear it when I worked on Wall Street in my 20s because it was a very dressy, grown up classy fragrance, and I was working in an office of mostly older men who noticed everything. It did seem to project an aura of maturity and success when I, in fact, possessed neither! I repurchased No 5 recently and it, and Coco are the only fragrances in my depleted scent wardrobe. I will try to find the Lanvin and Fragonard, and the Allure if I can find it at a good price. Thanks for this lovely episode. I would love to learn more about fragrances. I have been to Grasse and it was fascinating and very fragrant!

Very happy to see Fragonard mentioned. Bourjois, Houbigant and Dior's old school scents bring to mind classic French perfumes, along with Hermés' 24 Faubourg. Allure EDP is criminally under rated. It is certainly a womanly scent that commands respect and exudes elegance.

It's early in the morning here in Europe. I just finished my workout and I'm getting ready to go out. I want to try Hermés' 24 Faubourg :) I just read the notes and i think this might be a new love for me. Have a great Sunday! xoxo

Thank you for your insights into perfume. My Grandmother wore Fleur De Rocaille by Caron. My Mother and her sisters also wore it, until it became hard to find. While traveling, a cousin visited a store with Caron stock, and said that the formula had changed. So, we now have only memories. I don't wear perfume often, but I still tire of a scent before even 3/4 through a bottle. When we had a Nordstrom close by, I would try and liked Chanel No 5. I've decided it is time to spurge and get it, but I'll have to work up the courage to drive into Denver.

Hello, Angela! I always enjoy and look forward to watching all of your videos. This one in particular touched my heart, as like you, my mother wore Chanel #5 all of her adult life. My father bought her first bottle of the fragrance when they were newlyweds. He was a young officer in the Air Force, so they spent their first two years of married life in Europe. While in Paris, he bought her the perfume. Fast forward another ten years when I was born. As a toddler, I loved to climb up on anything. So, apparently (as I don't remember doing this but it was a story told over and over), I climb up on my mother's bureau, opened her large bottle of Chanel #5 and spilt it all over the top of the bureau! Needless to say, she was not happy with me. Though she has been gone from my life for twenty years, Chanel #5 is the scent that always reminds me of my precious mother, a most elegant and stylish woman. I have a bottle, not to personally wear, but to smell on occasion to remind me of her spiritual presence in my life. For me, I love Chanel's Allure and have worn it for years and only started wearing Coco Mademoiselle in the past three years. I love both of these Chanel fragrances. I also enjoy wearing Chanel's Gabrielle fragrance during the summer months. Another favorite is La Vie est Belle L'eclat, which my husband especially loves, and Baccarat Rouge 540, which many people either strongly love or hate it! I love it! Take care and thank you for bringing us wonderful videos about fashion, skincare and make-up. Your honest expertise is greatly appreciated!

I have recently started to purchase some of the fragrances that I remember the most from her like Trésor or Opium. It sort of felt as something I couldn't do while she was alive, but now is very comforting for me to be able to smell those fragrances again and remember the times before Alzheimer's took over her.

Hi Chloe! I've never smelled this one but I just looked at the notes and it sounds divine. I would have loved to try this perfume. It sounds like a gorgeous fragrance. It's so sad when brands discontinue old classics. Sometimes they are forced to do it because certain ingredients get banned (usually by IFRA - The International fragrance association or the EU Commission) so it's a matter of legislation. The EU commission banned a lot of perfume ingredient in the past 10 years which lead to reformulation of older perfumes and discontinuing of some.
@victoriamyst4742 Жыл бұрын
It was my mom’s perfume, too🥰🥰 They recently released a super limited edition of Climat in some exclusively designed collectible bottle and only made a small batch and it was outrageously expensive. It would be generous and thoughtful of Lancôme to bring a regular Climat back, so many women would have purchased it out of nostalgia at least. Her other two signature fragrances at the time were Paloma Picasso and J’ai osé. My favorite French fragrance back from the day when I was a teenager (and a sadly discontinued one) was Les belles by Nina Ricci, it was super unique, with a note of tomato flowers. Man, what would I give to have it again now.

Hello Angela! I’ve been enjoying your videos since the start of this year; you present beauty topics with an easy, elegant style. Today’s video really resonated with me: a family friend gave me Arpège eau de parfum spray in the 70s when I was perhaps a bit too young to appreciate its complexity. And my mother also wore Chanel No. 5 as her only fragrance; like you, I have kept her last bottle. My favorite French fragrance is probably Byzance by Rochas…its sumptuousness reminds me of fun nights out in the the late 80s. My favorite French fragrance is an eau de toilette called La Violette by Goutal. I love violet fragrances. This one is my favorite but it doesn't last long on the skin. Another French perfume that I own is Guerlain's Insolence. It is also a violet forward fragrance but I find it a bit sweeter smelling than La Violette, which I am not crazy about. The bottle is so pretty though and they engraved my name on the bottle which is a special touch. Of course, Chanel's Coco Noir needs a mention. It has been in my collection for a long time.

Hi Kathleen :) Thank you so much for mentioning La Violette by Goutal. I love her perfumes but I've never tried this one. I adore violet fragrances and I have been looking for a new addition to my collection. I love Guerlain's Insolence. I used to have it in the past and today I was smelling it at a local retailer wondering if I should repurchase. And of course Coco Noir is a timeless classic. It's one of my favorite Chanel perfumes. xoxo

A recommendation for you is Frederic Malle au Magnolia (it is so fresh and beautiful although very spendy).

This video is special to me. My cousin and I are going to be in Paris in May, so I needed this one. Also, will you tell me of a good restaurant in Paris that you love?

Hi Bonnie! These are all gorgeous perfumes that I adore! Thank you so much for mentioning those. xoxo

Something that looks and is marketed as Joy by Jean Patou is widely available at reputable retailers in the U.S. still. I'm a bit confused as it's supposed to have been discontinued. (I'm not referring to the Dior version.) I'm about to order some and I hope it is the real deal; it appears to be.

I dont know if Rojas was made in France but I smelled it at Neimans and it was heavenly. I ended up with Royal tobacco by Amouge Still love Must by Cartier and Chanel 5

Hi Melinda! :) Roja Perfumes is a British perfumery house. Amourage are made in Oman. Both houses create gorgeous perfumes. They are classified as niche brands I believe and the perfumes are quite unique. I think I haven't smelled Royal Tobacco but it sounds very intriguing. Must by Cartier is a gorgeous smooth leather/vanilla fragrance. 😍 I see you like more unique perfumes :)

Hi Christina! :) Yes, Almost all of them. These are some gorgeous creations. Truly exquisite scents from the House of Chanel. Gardenia, Beige, 1957, No 22 are my all time favorites! I only wish they would start offering them in smaller sized bottles too. xoxo

I really liked "Voyage en Méditerranée Immortelle de Corse" by L'Occitane. The fragrance with natural immortelle extract is subtly sweet and spicy, warm. I enjoyed it on cooler autumn days. Unfortunately the perfume is discontinued.

I’ve recently found Chanel No. 22 and I’m surprised how lovely it is. Feminine and soft. What do you think of it?
@jeannadesisto8705 Жыл бұрын
My favorite French perfume is Bleu by Paul & Joe. It was created by Pierre Bourdon, its described as amber and it was a scent made for me. It was discontinued. I was devastated. Since then I have gone back to an American perfume that is not trendy but it's a classic, Youthdew by Estée Lauder. I would love to learn about Fragonard perfume. There is nothing more personal than finding a scent that feels like it was created for you.
