I can not give this video enough likes or thumbs up. Well said. I’ve been strength training with rheumatoid arthritis and Sjögren’s syndrome for years and it truly has saved me and changed my body composition for the better.

By focus just on lifting weights and eating good by reducing fast food and soda etc... I've lost 20 lbs from 215 to 195 at 5"11 thanks guys. I used to do also a lot of cardio and reduce calories and lost muscle and at one point I could not keep maintaining that lifestyle.

I NEEDED to hear this so badly! Us everyday people who aren't fitness experts are just trying to find out valuable information about what to do MORE of and what to do LESS of in our health & wellness journey. It's so confusing to hear this extreme emphasis on muscle building and then also hear that 1 pound of muscle will help you burn only 15 calories more. Which is it?? My time and energy is valuable and I want to spend it contributing to my fitness in the best way I can with the information available to me. I've been on a fitness journey trying to lean out. The scale hasn't moved, but I now am visibly toned, my clothes are now too big for me, and I have abs. I've never been happier with my physique in my entire life (I'm 28). Listening to you all has helped me. High protein meals, weightlifting / strength training, slight caloric deficit, and walking 10k steps a day. Please keep creating more content around debunking the messages that are heavily pushed out there for us!

Thanks for this MP team, I just heard that 1lb = 12 calorie thing 2 days ago and almost switched my focus to losing weight instead of building muscle to get faster results

I lost over 140 pounds in 4 years, the majority of which came in the past 16 months I got impatient with my goal of 10% late last dinner/early fall so i ramped up the calorie deficit but kept the protein high, workout intensity etc You know how i know it worked? Because now ive got lose skin on my mid to low abdomen It took a LONG time for that to happen. Now i wanna bulk again with the hope it'll fill in Im not gonna shell out the money for the surgery

I followed Dr Naiman and he is in muscle-centric and the increased protein camp. He gathered his information from his practice. I have read his book and followed him and Dr Lyons both. I have never seen or heard them say this at all. They’re not referring to him at all.

Harvards biggest losser research demonstrated long term cutting leads to metabolism destruction. Therefore, i reccomend to clients minimum 4 days per week eating normally, 3 days of cutting or even fasting..

I think if doctors had ANY faith in their patients theyd prescribe strength training And I get it. People ask me all the time how i did it. There's a lot to it but the concept is very basic. Most of them don't wanna do it. They zero in on a Celsius can in my hand and think that's the simple secret or at least they want it to be

Im experiencing this now where i started strength training and feeding my body properly and im burning more calories with neat and tdee and im constantly going up 100 calories every 3 weeks and getting stronger and staying the same weight but my waist is getting smaller and everything is getting tighter. Pushing 3,000 calories and im only 5,8 and 180 lbs

no… for my experience i do not agree with you! adding muscle requires a lots of energy and effort, but it doesn’t change your metabolism if not in a very small small measure. When i was running 14Km per day, weight 68Kg i ate 3000 plus calories per day and i was super lean. Now i’m 77Kg, (9Kg of muscle that i hardly build upmin almost 3 years… and 9Kg is quite a lot for me) and i’m eating 1600/1700 calories per day to stay as lean as i was before! So no… muscle DOES NOT increase your metabolism!! it would be great… but it doesn’t!!

Pretty sure that running 14km per day takes more energy and effort than lifting weights for a few hours each week...

i don’t think so! once you’re used it’s like a steady state easy cardio! lifting is always pushing close to failure!! waaaay more hard and difficul as training!
