In this vid I talked about a piece of chess advice that constantly shows up in my games. Do not break in the center unless your pieces are more active. Hopefully the examples help u guys and lmk what u think about the vid :) #chess #chessgame #chesstricks

I've seen so many chess tips videos and this one was new and super useful. It inherently makes sense, having more pieces in an area of the chess board gives you an advantage locally there. So if you're behind in pieces don't open it up! I'm 2000 rated and I hadn't heard this concept. I heard it more like, don't start attacking until you have king safety. But as you show, castling isn't enough, and it's not just about attacking but also about opening up the structure for tactics

Thx bro, yeah I don't hear this tip very often but it's been really helpful for me. You're def right that it's not just about attacking but also opening up the structure for tactics, and in general the tactics will favor the side with the more active pieces so you don't wanna open the center if your pieces aren't ready.

It sounds very straightforward and something that's easily overlooked. I'll definitely pay more attention to this concept in my games. Thanks a lot!

Nice clear video. I hadn't thought of it quite the way you explained it, but it helps to visualise things. I often set up nice solid pawn structure and then get into a frenzy of pawn trades leaving a gaping hole in my side of the board! I like the clarity of getting your back pieces into formation before attacking with the pawns. And this also makes sense when watching high level players, as they almost never do early game pawn trades. Cheers.

Watch my vids. Nah just playing lmao - I would say at the very least do the chess.com puzzles everyday but if u can do more puzzles somewhere else like lichess that’d be great. Always analyze your games to see where you went wrong and if u rly wanna get good just read and watch more vids about chess in general. I would recommend Daniel Naroditsky speedrun vids on KZbin and a good book is the Amateurs mind by Jeremy silman

bro ngl there's a lot of generic stuff you could do like practice tactics and improve calculation, but imo the best way to get better by far is play games and have someone who's better than you analyze them with you. If you have any friends who are rated higher than you that'd probably be the best bet. Also try to read chess books to absorb new ideas bc that's the closest you'll get to having a coach without spending a lot of money. I'll probably do some free coaching lessons with some viewers when I reach 1000 subs so stay posted for that.

0:18 why not Qxb2
@ManikChess
@ManikChess 4 ай бұрын
I think in this case Qxb2 is objectively fine, but in general it's better to develop pieces than go pawn hunting in the opening especially if your development is worse than your opponents.
