Ha ha! Brant, such addictive fishing! I've had this with mackerel off the beach in the UK and when you're putting everything into the cast because they are just a bit too far away and then they come close enough but keep turning almost as you cast! 😂 when you get the hookup, what a feeling 😊😊😊.

That was so cool dude. I went out yesterday to Pensacola beach and was able to catch 5 Spanish, a Bonita, a 34" black drum, 4 huge stingrays, and 2 pompano all from the beach, plus a shark that got away. Of all the catches tho the Bonita was definately my favorite, that thing hit my spoon and just started peeling drag, it was such an exciting catch, my first ever Bonita and it was in the surf.

Me & my fishing buddy from Boynton Beach would catch Bonita and give them to the Haitian guys that would be waiting at the dock when We came back. Very nice fighting fish. Fun to catch. I hated Boynton inlet. I would love to come down there & try my luck. Thanks Brant Great video.

If the fish are just a bit out of your normal casting range when you cast look up about 45 degrees above the fish and lead with your hips. You will gain approx 20% distance.

Question - I've read that it's really important to bleed the fish that you plan to eat. Are the ones you've shown here going to be for bait only? If not, why not bleed them?
@shane3662 Жыл бұрын
Brant was that a long cast reel? If not have you ever thought of using one? I was fishing one day and I couldn't quite get over the bar and a guy told me if I had a long cast reel I could. He guaranteed me 10 extra yards with one. That might actually be a great video. Testing between a regular spinning reel and a long cast one.
@danver1971 Жыл бұрын
Aren't those Bonito great to eat, rather than using them for bait? Bleed em and ice em, cut out the dark line in the filet??? I'll be down in Pen and Nav the end of the month. Hoping to get on some of the same fish.
@danver1971 Жыл бұрын
@@davidb4434 Appreciate the info. I'm hoping for Pomps and Whiting at the end of the month. Maybe some Spanish. I suppose if I catch a Bonito, I'll give it a go. Try anything once.

For casting you really need something longer. I like the 9ft ninja dagger better for throwing lures
How is it that there is never anyone else on the beach but him? When I go to the beach there are a lot of people. Even in the more secluded locations there are still some.
