had one game a week after getting the Caliban that I missed 8 shots at ~100m, including 2 SAP shells that went into the tracks without dealing dmg, now I know where the rng was going XD

It was intended to be a 160mm gun, capable of also launching nuclear warheads. Funny part is that in the original plans the frontal armor was about 260mm effective, whereas the sides were 5mm. Not even enough to withstand small arms fire. Oh, and the best part is, that it was meant to be incredibly accurate. Hit chance over 1000m was calculated to exceed 98%. In wot you'll miss from 10m about half the time.

Hah, I had that happen at the end of a rather good battle not too long ago. My and my buddy were platooning in Conways and we ended up against 6 enemy tanks by ourselves. We killed all of them but were really worried about their last remaining German TD. We finally found him tipped over on his side. We laughed while we finished him off. Was a good battle.

So, to summarize, the Caliban is highly situational, highly map specific, requires a high degree of luck, and requires team members who don't melt leaving your weak armor and long reload to be fest upon. Sounds about right.

The taliban was the first, after 30 ish loot boxes. The MIVY in 50, Skoda in 50, the 122TM in 30ish and the Pornwagn in 45. I really just wanted the Torn. So it was an expensive proposition. Sadly I do better with the other vehicles, I just suck with the Torn.

Hello I am a big fan of you Quickbaby. You have inspired me to play this game and now I'm a beast. I have a kv1 tier 5 and distroyed 4 enemy tanks. They were all surrounding me till I thought of a move you thought me. I put my back to the rocks and tilted my front so I would not be pened. You on the other hand you deserve the credit because without you I would have lost the battle. Hope we can meat up in the battle field some day.

I love the Caliban, it's great but it does require some team assistance and those few shots guided by the Queen of England herself. Leading shells with the Caliban takes significant amount of skill

The reason the Auf. IV flipped is pretty simple. In order to get any kind of gun depression you have to aim over the side or rear of the tank. I imagine they tried to reposition or dodge arty and flipped on a rock in the process.

I've played the tank a few times now and I think it's alright, as long as you're playing for the memes and know full well, that you're going to miss a lot of fully aimed shots, not pen things you should and be waiting on reload for 3/4 of the game. I think where this tank actually ends up being fun, is when you've got a platoon mate or 2 that also have the caliban, that can be interesting because people get scared to push you, even when you've fired both shells.

IMO the caliban is an awesome addition to the game, even if it is a pain in the ass to play against. I do have mixed feelings about it though because I wouldn't be suprised if the HE changes were implemented in order to balance this tank. HE changes were the worst change to happen to WOT in a while (although I may be biased cause I got the FV4005 recently), and the fact that this tank may be related to them kinda puts a damper on it for me
