Hard to believe it's already almost been a year since it happened. I wish we got more storms like that up here in New York. We only have what seems like 1 storm that's close to the level of intensity as this storm every year.

You've got it! I just subscribed, and I love the sounds of all those buggs. I grew up in Southern Florida until I was around 6-1/2 years old. I'm originally from Hollywood, so I really miss the Night Blooming Jasmine and the Gardenias! Those are two of my favorite flowers, and the fragrant roses are some of the best around! Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the sub! 🙂 It was very relaxing in Florida hearing all the bugs. Hopefully I can live down there in the future someday.

I was right under that, including the tornado near Pensacola, passing just a mile or two away. That crap was scary but man some awesome lightning too. (I was talking about the 15th)

Isn't that something else?!?! Moody old thunderstorm. Makes me want to play "Riders on the Storm" by the Doors. You were just far enough away to see lots of lightning but not hear the thunder, interrupted by the sound of someone unzipping the sky from time to time. Ke-rraaacckk...POW!⚡⚡ We get them here in Georgia like that, sometimes. Anyway, great photography! Thank you for sharing it...🇺🇸 👍☕

Thanks for the compliment. :) We would've driven further towards the storm to get more video closer to the storm, or right in the middle of it, but it was late where we were staying. I didn't insist enough on driving further too. I really should've. 😅

Something that I had found when videoing lightning....pull the lens back. Get as wide an angle as you can to capture as much as you can.
@newyorkstatestormchasers10 ай бұрын
I haven't thought of that. It would feel even more immersive that's for sure. I'm assuming you're talking about wide angle. The thing with my phone is when going from normal zoom to wide angle, it can act strange, auto-changing focus more, brightening up the screen more. I'll try it out next time I see a storm like this though.
@wayneneher636210 ай бұрын
@@newyorkstatestormchasers Yes, wide angle. Most storms are so busy that you just can't get it all, even wide angle. At some point you MUST get out to Arizona during the monsoon. AMAZING storms!

@@wayneneher6362 I have wanted to see those storms in person because I've heard they're insane, like, only Florida and Tornado/Dixie Alley storms are on that level.

@@newyorkstatestormchasers The other thing I have seen in just watching these videos....keep the camera pointed at one thing. Chasing your target just makes the viewer seasick. lol

@@wayneneher6362 that's the problem, I can't. I like to pan around and sometimes I need to move fast or slow. I haven't seen anybody else have an issue with that.

This is easily one of the if not the best lightning storm I've seen here on U tube, I can definitely see why Florida is the lightning capital of the world, we don't get anything quite like that here in the UK, well not where i live in the Midlands anyway, well done to the person who filmed this and shared it on here, Mother Nature at her most awesome 😮

Thanks! :) I live in the Western NY area but this was during our trip to Florida this year, which really made me want to move down there. Not one day during our 8 day trip had no storms, and it continued for 3 more days after we left. Nothing like that happens up north. 😆

I wish I could just move to Florida so I could have exciting weather like this for most of the year. Western NY can get really boring. Still some decent storms, but not even close to being as frequent like in Florida. If possible, I do plan on moving there with family within the next decade.

@@Paul.Casteel sounded normal to me. It's also Florida so there was probably more positive lightning instead of the more traditional negative lightning which does sound different.
