So sorry about the Irminia -I've only paired my OBTs twice but both times I fed the female nearly every day for the week before. I do hear OBT are rare to eat the male but I was doing my best to keep it from happening. I wanted to make sure she was nice and full. She was the first one drumming both times as soon as he was in her enclosure. My poor Bumblebee made it 2 1/2 years as a mm and died 2 days after his babies started climbing out of the eggsac. I really didn't think he'd make it long enough for her to mature and be ready for breeding. He was my second T and favorite.

1. You need to feed your females more before you mate them. Or they are hungry and eat the mails. Next. You push the mating. If she does have a egg sack. There a good probability she will eat her baby's. Your spiders look very nervous plus very hungry. I have seen some spiders take 12 hrs. Sometimes days. Pushing your spider's makes them nervous and unpredictable.

I think you needed to bulk up your psalmopoeus irminia a bit more before pairing. Her abdomen looked quite a bit smaller than most of the irminias I've seen successfully paired, so maybe she was more interested in a meal than a mate. I could be totally wrong though, that's just my thoughts on why she pounced so quickly on him. Cheers!
