I agree that Izzy is overrated but I think he’s a nightmare matchup for DDP. DDP relies on his physicality and leaves a lot of openings so I think elite counter strikers are going to be his downfall at 185 if they have legit ko power. Izzy is actually one of the only people in the division that fits that mold

DDP landed effective high kicks on Strickland that Izzy can't.DDP has good jabs. And his frame is a problem for Izzy. I think it's going to be an end for Izzy's career

@@harshatomas835 I mostly agree, but there’s a critical point of difference. Izzy has MUCH better reach and power than Whittaker or Strickland. Meaning that both the range and caliber of counter threat is going to be much greater, forcing DDP to fight with a greater respect for the weapons Izzy has. Ultimately I am rooting for DDP, but if I was betting I’d put money on Izzy to finish in under 3 I don’t think DDP has taken on a knockout threat like Izzy, and it’s hard to call because I expect DDP to make stylistic adjustments

I think DDP could survive those rounds by striking effectively and mixing with takedowns.In both Izzy's finishes over Whittaker and Costa, they possessed 0 takedown threat. But in 2nd fight Whittaker fought efficiently with mixing up and was successful
