We just bought a 2021 Entergra 31f. It’s the V8 (swivel seats) and has the upper windshield with better features. Everything is accessible with the super slide out except a few bedroom drawers and even the bunk house is open. We are missing the auto level, but otherwise happy. 78K.

I have to say putting the control panel and leveling jack controls next to the bottom stair step seems crazy inconvenient to me. The control panel should be head height when standing inside, and the jacks controller should be near the drivers seat.

What still seems confusing, is how the RV industry still hasn't caught up with reality... Note that a lot of them still don't secure the outside storage areas with locked entrances. Those that do, use a standardized key generically available to everyone online. It's surreal that the engineers who build these things, are still clueless in this area....

Scott Perkins that is too funny, but yes. Our fifth wheel had the bathroom upstairs with the master and a pain when brother in law came one time with his alcholhoic non doing anything althletic wife screaming at worms and fish! Babbles all day long....Went to bed early at 8pm in a drunk stumper drinking light beer for calories she says but drank like 20??? and locked us out of our clothing, supplies and the bathroom. She got mad at me when I just went in for my night clothes! In a huff in the morning they went down the mountains to a hotel. Good riddance. The poor husband didnt get to fish again. I’m not that nature buff either, a bit overweight but never ever put myself over the guys that do want to fish. I stay at camp, do a nature walk but I fish in silence by myself too. Stream fishing is solitary sport. Never invited mixed couples again. My hubby goes alone with the brothers or they come and stay in own vehicle or tents. Leaving her home! We now moved to our fishing town. But we downsized to a smaller trailer that is only missing floor space and bathroom separate at end of trailer.

The bathroom is designed perfectly! I love everything about this! I’m not worried about the lack of kitchen counter space, I would work at the kitchen table. Personally I’m not a fan of those pop up counters. As far as the floors, I actually don’t mind the vinyl. I just would want something that’s easy to clean since we all know how dirty the floors get every day! I love it all!!!

Wife and I purchased our latest 5th wheel this past October, a Grand Design Reflection 320MKS. We love it. We’re in our 60’s and at this point I don’t have any problems climbing in and out of the bed of my GMC 2500HD diesel truck. But when that becomes an issue or if the truck dies, we’ll be moving to a Class C. The cost of a new truck alone is close to the price of a decent Class C. I’ll be looking for a king bed and would prefer a love seat recliner as opposed to a sleeper sofa. Thanks for the video. I always enjoy your channel.

Did I miss it or is there really zero privacy screening at the front? I don't even see a mount for a slider curtain. And that countertop area is about as small as many 19 foot camp trailers. They ruined the usability with that huge, awkward, diagonally mounted sink. Weird that it comes with such a large fridge with that tiny kitchen space. I would toss that ridiculous sink for a smaller unit and redo the counter, adding about 18 inches space next to the sofa. I love the outdoor kitchen setup. Plenty of space there but it's impractical to prep all meals outside all the time! At least there is a large amount of storage space in the bedroom.

We have the 24f version by Thor. It has the "wood" linoleum which I agree is more attractive. We also have a mid bath accessible with full wall slide in. The major gripe I have with the Ford cutaway is driver legroom (I'm 6'1"). The driver seat back hits the slide wall trim, preventing it from moving back far enough. I made some modifications to allow the driver seat to move further back, and also raised the seat some. Those mods GREATLY increased my leg room/comfort! For those Interested, I plan to make a KZbin video soon detailing what/how I accomplished this... as soon as this crappy Ohio weather improves!

I toured the Coachmen plant in September and based on my 35 years of experience RVing I would not recommend them. A very disorganized office and taken on a tour on their assembly line, in the dark, with obstacles strewn all over the floor. In my opinion, stay away from Coachmen.
@BigTruckBigRV
@BigTruckBigRV 4 жыл бұрын
By contrast, I had a totally different experience when touring their facility. Was the factory a bit of a mess? Yes, but I didn't see how their could be any way to prevent that. Dedicated cleaning employees were sweeping between units and clearing scraps when they could. I noticed that the employees seem happy as well as focused on their job. many companies have specific tour dates that allow them to prepare and clean up for the public. Coachmen allowed me to tour their facility in a way that showed how the factory works on a normal day. I felt the same way when I toured the LUXE facility. It was what appeared to be controlled chaos. I understand that you've been RVing for 35 years, but not sure how that directly applies to a factory tour..

Thank you for reviewing this unit. To make it fit into the "towable space", you could apply your expertise on how to tow a trailer with this unit. I am thinking of a 16-foot Motorcycle or car hauler. I have concerns with the advertised towing capacity on small Class C or Class B motorhomes. Also, with the length of overhang from the tires to the rear of the unit, would it impact trailer towing? Would this unit have the ability to tow 5000 pounds successfully over 100,000 miles? Thank you!

I have the same question! And why doesn’t anyone provide the number of seatbelts in the reviews or details?

Thank you for showing the Class “C”. We live in a 5th Wheel. Would love to be able to tow it into the National Forests we love to inhabit for a fishing; but I don’t think the 5th Wheel would tow well in those areas. Our 5th Wheel is over 30 ft. I have “heard” Mountain Passes with switchbacks, sharp curves, and steep grades are not to travel towing a 5th Wheel. Is this true?

At $85k grand, I could buy a WeeRoll travel trailer that's all aluminum and a F250 pickup.

You may not do other type of RVs often but you do them well and you have a good following who makes some great points, like the layout, that I would've overlooked

We have a Freedom Express Coachman travel trailer. It is just a bit smaller than this RV. We only have 1 AC and it is plenty big enough, keeps our camper very comfortable. You may not need a second AC for this unit?? I am with you regarding the wood looking vinyl flooring. Not a fan of the vinyl in this RV. Thank you for sharing. Love the layout of this rig. Love your channel.

Maybe a little more counter space! Maybe a bathroom before the bedroom! Maybe two people with no kids! Maybe buy something else?

I just bought a 2018 Thor, 28'.$ 66,000, New with 618 miles on it. Those miles were from Elkhart, IN. to AR. It has NO leveling jacks , only two stabilizers in the rear. I had to buy 2 bottle jacks to help with leveling in the front. The dealer said it didn't come with a spare tire ???? , even though it had a tire well in the rear for one.. The lay out is similar. Air cond. is over the center of RV. It will freeze ya out :>). It has a small Frig / freezer. It has 3 T.V.'s (1- in sitting area , 1-in bedroom & 1 outside. Has a V-10 on a F-450 chasie. Kitchen counter space has same problem. I would recommend a 32'.

For the most part, $85000 seems an excellent value. The only two down sizes that are not necessarily game changers is that he’s right, the counter space is woefully lacking in the kitchen. Pretty dicey to jam a 12-cup coffee maker in that space! As well, rather than a deep space in the bedroom to insert a TV, it would be a more versatile configuration to have an articulated flat screen anchored to the wall which can swing in any direction. Ohhhhh, forgot! *groan* It’s Friday, October 7, 2022, here in Southern Cali. In todays’ world, filling THAT gas tank and tooling along without a care in the world IS actually THE game changer! My Honda Accord now costs $100 to fill!!! That’s an owey, BUT hitting the road in this Class C would kill me! *opens wallet and watches moths fly out*

Sure you can "sleep seven", but showers and toilet flushes for seven?? Better have hookups! We bought a Ford Chateau 24F last summer. Bath is smaller, but easily accessible with slide in - and wood grain style floor. The two of us (and two pups) can stretch 40 gallons of water 3-4 days boondocking fairly easily. One thing to watch out for in the cutaways... if you're tall like me, bring the slide in all the way. Then climb into the driver seat and see how much legroom you have. Push the seat ALL the way back. Chances are, the seatback hits the decorative wood trim on the slide. I actually raised my seat and modified the mount to also move it back about 1 1/2". I also had to modify the wood trim to allow the seat to move back. That's the ONLY PIA issue I had to address. Our unit came with a solar controller preinstalled. I added a 100w solar panel on the roof which keeps the house battery charged. Next step is to replace the stock 12v house battery with two 6v golf cart batteries. Lithium is overkill (and STILL too expensive) for us - we just use the genny as needed.

I bet you can't walk to the toilet with the rear slide in! But at least you can fix lunch for everybody onboard with the front slide in.

That was my concern as well. Doesn’t appear that you can access the bathroom (w/o climbing over the bed) with the back slide in. Also, can you access the fuse panel with the front slide in? What if you’re having to troubleshoot with the slide in?

Fix lunch where? In the sink? It’s ridiculous how they planned it without any counter space.

Are you able to access the bathroom without slides out? I’d definitely build a shelf/counter for kitchen & make cover for sink. Overall, not much changes over the years. I find the outside inputs for tv’s funny. Who doesn’t just stream everything?

I got a 2019 Thor chateau 32' with super slide. It's a 30 amp RV with twin ac roof units. I can run both off the generator or shore power. I Like coachman RVs but they always struggled with counter top space

Owner of a 317SA here. Definitely agree with the poor placement of bathroom comments. Everyone going through your bedroom to get to the toilet is a NO. That full size refrigerator looks nice, but Class Cs have a weight limit problem. With the outside kitchen, TV, self leveling, full size fridge, and the heavier trimmings, this thing is probably overweight after you fill up the gas tank.

Floor color too light. Will show dirt and footprints. Wood is a better choice. Love the big refrig. Next sofa and dinette, the cab seats all covered with Halo leatherette that has a maximum life span of 3-4 years. Then all pieces must be reupholstered because they will be peeling and look like crap! I know, I have it in our Four Winds and am re-upholstering everything right now. Buyer beware!!

That’s weird. We have a 2008 Coachmen Freedom Express that we bought 3 years ago and you could put in the slide with the vehicle off, just turn on the house battery. Wow is very different from mine. Not to impressed with this newer model. I’ll keep mine . We have a big pantry, access to bathroom and queen size bed is on the back end no slide and you could walk around the bed.
