Only complaint/recommendation is to improve use of cabinets by having removable shelving. I installed them including the front ones by TV staining them the same color. Manufacturer was helpful in solving some defects. Excellent service.

I know a lot of people don’t like the overcab bunks, but I really think that should be an option with this model. This model could have a lot of appeal for families (including mine) that want a roadtrip and camping vehicle without being huge. The bunk over cab would allow 4 people to sleep easily while keeping the small footprint. For those without kids, the overhead bunk provides invaluable space for this rv that desperately needs it (where do you store bedding when you’re not using it?). I can imagine a larger family bringing a tent along for the campsite, but loving this for siteseeing because there is a toilet and ability to store and make meals while out. A tent trailer could also be towed for extra sleeping. Thank you so much to the manufacturer for adding so many seatbelts. It’s such an easy way to speak to families. If anyone out there knows of a model like this with an overhead bed, please share.

Yeah to be honest I actually don't like this Class C at all. It just doesn't do it for me. It looks more suited for a tour bus than it does camping. I was really excited when I clicked on the link, but I personally think they did a poor job with the spacial use of this van.
@UntamedAustin6 ай бұрын
Great for space but unless you are on shore power with AC you will find the temperature gets really unpleasant for sleeping. It can be 70 degrees outside and the sun hitting the bunk area can have the inside bed at 85 degrees. I did mot like the heat problem when I had my Class B. That was my experience. Plus these are often targeted at older people who dislike climbing a ladder in and out of the bunk especially at night when nature calls. But for kids or a small family the extra sleeping space is a huge plus given the caveats.

We have owned a 5210 for a little over 2 years. Great engine and transmission, excellent going up hills and very good transmission control going down hills. We only have 7,000 miles on it and it is still breaking in and getting better MPG The on board computer shows 11.5 to 12.0 MPG at a steady 63 miles per hour. Exterior finish is fine, although lots of left-over sealant around the seams. I have fixed the roof leaks and rebuilt the ceiling after the winter seepage. Most of the interior plumbing leaks have been tightened up, just one bathroom sink leak to fix. The appliances are standard and all work well, now. I fixed the wind leaks around the front 2 cabin windows with some water dam material from Amazon and some black tape. Almost looks factory installed and it sure stops the wind noise and the windows flexing at 60 Miles per hour. Or course you cannot open them any more, but the other 2 windows are enough air. Also had good luck finding the short in the wiring to the roof lights. When the ladder screws were installed they pierced the supply wire and it would short out all the running lights. I hope I have it fixed now. The Ford chassis and drive train are excellent as is the suspension. I have most of the fit and finish corrected, hinges, alignment, and drawer slides. Just the bathroom door hinges to replace and re-hang the door. This 5210 is a 2021 and they were moving them thru the factory pretty quick at that time. All in all it is a pleasure to drive.

Your review was great and got me really excited with this size unit. I went on RV Trader and dealer sites to look at what was available and found prices vary from dealer to dealer. My next thing was to read reviews and BOY was I shocked ! I read many bad reviews on the build quality of the Gulfstream BT Cruisers and then most everyone complained about warranty repair work and customer service from Gulfstream. I hate to say it but customer service after the sale is important and with all the bad reviews I will look elsewhere for a class c or b. I really liked the unit, but don't want major problems.

Excellent walkthrough as always. This is a timely review for me. I recently saw an ALP (Adventurer) 19 foot class c … exterior only, parked in a normal parking spot. The mfg is also a family/independent in BC Canada. It has wet bath and rear dinette convert to bed as well as a cabover bed. Both the Gulf Stream and Adventurer 19 have pluses/minuses for me … either would be great. The small Class C is as you say … a good alternative to Class B for a bit more room in a similar footprint. As a single female traveler I loved the beds as I could leave one as a bed and still have a sofa. The only negatives I saw was that the table could have been a few cms wider, I would prefer a single induction cooktop over gas, there needs to be a cutlery drawer in the kitchen. Everything else was just brilliant. I loved the electronic awning- so easy!. The bathroom was a good size and heaps of storage. I don't want a huge motorhome but I do want comfort and some feeling of luxury and this provided all of that.

Nice review. This is the type and size RV I prefer for one or two people plus a pet or two. You didn't mention the engine size options or the GCWR. One limiting factor for me is the modest towing capacity of 5000 pounds. A standard I use is I need something that can flat tow my off road pick up truck while the RV is at it's max GVWR. This RV's tow capacity has no extra margin of safety for me. The main reason though for not being interested is for me, a retiree, the prohibitive price. Last year I bought an clean older Chinook RV for a good price. It has the big block 460 which the previous owner recently had rebuilt and a remanufactured transmission installed. With a 10 grand or so budget I expect to spend upgrading the suspension and interior including the electronics from solar, lithium, energy efficient heating and cooling, a kick butt entertainment system, etc; I'll still be about 90 grand ahead of the cost of one of these new RVs. No matter how nice they are. Good luck on your future travels, I enjoy following along. Happy trails!

I had a Chinook with the V10 and two jacknife sofas and the whole time watching this I was comparing it to my Chinook. For 1/2 the $90k dealer price of this you can get a really nice used Chinook and not have to pay the crazy yearly plate fees. Currently I have a nice 2004.5 2500 Ram Cummins with a 2017 Lance 650 and I recently got 15.5 mpg across country towing a small trailer. So it’s hard to justify a change other than the wife would like a bigger bathroom and not have to pull over and go outside to get to the bathroom. So I’m keeping my eye out for a nice Chinook, their fiberglass body will last forever if kept out of the sun. And V10s are easily rebuildable. I should delete this post so others aren’t competing with me for Chinooks, but I can’t stop singing their praise, maybe Oliver Trailers will get the idea to get into this space.

Interesting rig and looks like it would be great for one or two people. We are on our second Chinook, and I too kept comparing this unit with my 2000 Chinook Concourse which is still running strong. While I am hoping the Chinook lasts as long as I do, I enjoy your reviews on new RVs. Thanks for a good, detailed walk through; very informative.

i love it, just a few things i would love to see in maybe a future model. i would want to just put the shower, toilet, and sink all in one as a wet bath to increase the amount of storage space and/or be able to increase the size of the kitchen. i hope there's a fridge option with more freezer space but i've been looking for a trailer/RV situation that has that size or bigger refrigerator. i don't know about anyone else, but i find the freezer more useful than the fridge.

Yes. Freezing and vacuum sealing pre made meals is so convenient for trips. There’s never enough freezer room in these things though.

I've always liked this model, although I prefer the floorplan with one bed and a dinette. The biggest cons for me are fuel economy on the 3500 and a little wider when parking (as opposed to a Class B).
@alive-awake Жыл бұрын
I'd like to see the one you mention with dinette and bed. Is it a jackknife couch/bed?

Nice basic RV with most features one would need. The storage is a bit small, actually way small, as well as off grid power options, but it's really designed for RV parks/campgrounds with plug-in capability. As no longer an Storyteller ModeLT owner, I would love for you to review the EKKO, my new to me land yacht.

Why did you replace your storyteller overland camper?
@johnwilliamson9453 Жыл бұрын
@@patrickio8084 The STO is a quality built van, however it's designed like a transformer, ie you have to set things up every day. We wanted a dedicated toilet/shower, and separate twin beds so we didn't crawl over each other in the middle of the night. Like most things, it does a lot of things ok, but not a few things well, and those few things were important to us. So it came down to design layout.

Curious to hear thoughts on build quality & any other possible drawbacks. Personally, I love the size & that I could keep 1 bed down most of the time w/the opposite sofa upright. I'm a big guy & have no issue with wet baths, so I'd rather see a really large wet bath. All said, it's certainly an affordable entry into rving.
@Weretherussos Жыл бұрын
Hard to say on the quality and drawbacks as we just spend an afternoon in it and can't comment on it until we've had sometime to really put it through it paces. Dealers are selling these in the 90s so its even more affordable than the MSRP.

I love it! I'm a mobile massage therapist. However, I'm tired of lugging my equipment into people's homes. I'd rather pull into their driveway and have them come out and step into a mobile spa. It's small enough to fit into someone's driveway. But they need to think about putting an option for Li3. A spa is supposed to be quiet.

Rather have a more spacious shower with a wet bath....easy enough to use your towel when done to dry the toilet...makes for a cleaner bathroom anyway. It's easier to clean your feet while sitting on the toilet for balance and scrubbing the soles of your feet real good and avoiding a fall.

Always liked the 5210. I'm curious what's under the jack knifes. It would be nice to remove one of thm and build something else, like a desk/work station.

I had an older one that I loved. As a full-timer, I changed the jackknife sofa for a real real twin bed with a 500 lithium battery bank . 500 watts solar on the roof. The tanks enabled me to boondock for two weeks. I would still be driving it if someone hadn’t run a red light and totalled it. I’m in a used Class C now, but hoping to get another one in the future.

I don't see why you couldn't do that with the bed since the table sits in the middle and there is that gap.

This has great potential. I'm wondering if the front seats swivel or not? If so, I'd remove one of the bench seats and raise the other to put a closet underneath the full length of a twin mattress and have the mattress base be liftable for access to the closet. The other side where the other bench seat had been I'd put cabinets and a desk w/ computer/tv. I'm not a own 5 outfits kinda person, lol. I need closet more than living space. I'd be travelling alone and not having group dinners in a van. lol You have outside for that. I need closets to stow all my stuff, not a 12 inch bar in a cubbie. lol I'd want a bigger freezer too. I could put a Lagoon table between the swivel chairs for dining, etc. and if I did have one guest and it was raining. lol It's a van. Always mystifies me why they prioritize so much entertaining space. Go outside for that. Inside ya need room for your stuff. lol Layout wise though, with some mods, this is one of few that could actually work for me.

If Ford would only update their chassis at least once every 30 years.
@Weretherussos Жыл бұрын
They did...that's why the E-Series vans are gone, replaced with the Transit. The cutaway chassis used here is a legacy platform and will probably continue as long as there is demand but once that demand has dwindled the Transit will probably be the only cutaway you can buy.
@warrengraves306 Жыл бұрын
The Transit comes with just two engine choices, the 3.5 liter v6 and the 3.5L ecoboost. These smaller engines will be working very hard when trying climb hills and towing. Once the E-Series are gone so are the V8 engines that power these and their impressive towing capacities. I'll take a V8 any day over an overworked V6,
@A_Man_In_His_Van Жыл бұрын
The transit is not capable. I drive a transit 350 at work, and the Econoline chassis is just a thousand times better in every way except steering, and I'll take that trade off. I couldn't imagine my 27' Winnebago on a transit chassis.

Very nice and compact yet roomy. It would be interesting if you can have the table out and have 1 side of the couches as a bed down (and leave the other side in couch mode). Also is it possible to add solar up top?
@Weretherussos Жыл бұрын
You can do that with the table, bed and couch. There’s definitely room for more solar but you’d have to check on the gauge wires to see if it could handle more.
