Ok, the Apron Wholecut Oxford (5:50) is absolute genius. Depending on the color you choose, you could wear them to just about any occasion.

I too love the apron and the split toe, but am not crazy about the lacing flaps and bulkiness of typical derby/blucher shoes. I have three FitzPatricks I want to get in the bear future. We’ll see how they measure up to Allen Edmonds, To Boots and Carminas.

Love the Fitzpatrick brand! Have a wonderful pair of single monk straps (Fauntleroy) which I wear at least once a week, 2 years now still going strong. Planning on getting the brown toe cap oxfords, and hopefully one day a pair of his button boots!

Hi. I have a question. Because of the climate in my region, I use winter boots only in winter months (dec - Feb) and demi-season in autumn and spring (march-may, sept - nov) and very rare in summer. In other time my shoes are in a carton box. Before leaving it in a box I conditioner it and creaming with a little bit of wax. But when I take it from the box after several months of keeping, should I cream it?

Hi Kirby Great video - your content is one of the main reasons for my recent upgrade into quality dress shoes. I’m curious of your thoughts on how a pair of J. Fitzpatrick shoes compare to AEs and other mid, to upper mid level dress shoes. I think it would be great if you could do a video of the top 5 dress shoes in the under $600 price range.

I would have thought a medallion makes a shoe less dressy, not more.

Traditionally the planer the shoe the more formal it is, opra pumps, plain oxford whole cut and a toe cap oxford without brogue to give example. But I really understand what he means, some shoes with a medallion feel just right with a navy suit in the city, but a little to much to go with your chinos or jeans for a trip to a friends place to watch the football.

He is selling "£150-200 shoes (if you look at materials and labour - which are all from Spanish factories) at £400-500. Objectively they are not bad shoes, but he is trying to sell them in line with high end, traditional English shoes which are much more labour and capital intensive to produce. In the end, it is the consumer being ripped off by an insanely inflated margin.
