The formation and commands also play a big role in how units will perform, as shown in the final fight the imperial elites engaged poorly by getting picked off as the group fell back and most were not engaged. In big infantry fights you want all your men engaged, if you're fighting a bigger army it's even more important they are entirely engaged while the enemy has troops idling/maneuvering to position after you've broken their lines and before you're flanked you regroup

The power of Imperial troops would go through the roof if they would actually throw their pilum, or at least have it swapped for the pilum throwing spears. As a Western Empire main, seeing my imperial infantry charge not use their pilums hurts my soul.

You should try the mutiplayer Captain mode. Don't know if you can still match people nowadays, but that mode is very helpful for understanding the units, their respective role, and strength.

In captain mode it takes too long to find a match. and i need a playmate to test it

I definitely think you should try by giving the order to hold fire at the start. I've noticed most lose some precious time while the peasants are closing in on switching from throwing axes to their main weapon

thank you for the video!- Just as a tip, i think it would make for some better battle angles, if you used the photomod for bannerlord. Also in the last fight with sturgia vs empire infantry, i would like to point out that im not surprised with the empire winning the 1v1 as the spear has a higher swing speed and longer reach. but i would find the sturgians being more useful against the recruits, because of their axes having a higher damage potentiel, meaning they are more likely to kill multiple enemies with one swing. so it all comes down to circumstances of the batlle in wich each individual unit while shine.

Thanks for the camera angle suggestion. yes definitely every soldier performs better in different areas. Fian Champions perform poorly against cavalry. but Sturgia pikemen are a good choice for cavalry

Taleworlds should definitely do something against this stupid *wielding throwing weapon while enemy is right in front of you*. I think more units would perform better if they wouldn't wield their throwing axes while the enemy charges in 5meters away from him.

I think there is no soldier that can beat 500 legioner. I tried it in previous beta versions. Things may be changed but for me 500 legioner is unbeatable except against horse archers

The infantry most resistant to mounted archers are the Sturgian pikemen. But one of the strongest infantry in the game
