IndieAndy I personally love all the memes, I’m autistic, I want to be a psychiatrist or psychologist when I grow up and I saw this in my recommended while studying and listening to others situations, I love your hoodie and I want to know why do you focus a lot on autism, do you have it are you a supporter? Sorry if I don’t seem smart, I also have borderline intellectual functioning and this is the first video I’ve seen from you, love your channel!

Aww hi there! Firstly thank you for coming over and watching this video! I am autistic myself & have found that I really want to help others understand this world of autism through my experiences. I have found that during this series of videos is a really effective way of talking about autism.

Sometimes I remember something and my classmates are like "How do you remember that?" and I am like (not out loud) "It was not that long ago." and I also have the forget things immediately. I remember once I apologised to one of my classmates for something I did a couple days previously and she was like “I don't even remember what you did." I was like (not out loud) "How do you forget when someone has done something mean so easily?" I could not relate at all when it came to what you remember.

I love cats too. Another one to use would be the Bambi snow scene. You go along in the snow, then fall in a deep part. You get out and continue, the. A load of snow falls on you. You then have fun skating around, then you fall and plough into snow. You feel like you are making progress, but you either fall in deep parts, it falls on you and buries you, or you have some fun and still end up buried.

I remember when at school we had this thing where we would interview people who had different jobs, and of course my autistic ass was very very scared, one because other people had partner however I was alone, I tried my best to ask the questions on the sheet of paper and then usually i was usually expected to carry on making up my own questions if there where still time. which was very stressful while also remembering to smile and keep eye contact however not so much. Lemme tell u it was physically painful having to look into there eyes while tryna keep up with what we are talking about in a noisy room and make sure I write important things down while tryna seem as interested and friendly as possible. And one of people noticed and said “ wow u have good eye contact skills” in my head I was like “thanks I put a lot of effort into that” She probably thinks I’m just a confident person when in reality it’s just years of masking....

this was nice. it made me feel like people know what im going through. my parents found out that i had autism in 6th grade, but they dont do a good job at tolerating it. They get very annoyed with my sensitivities in public, wont let me go out to the car, get irritated when im stressing out about crowds, they don't believe i have short term memory loss and im just playing dumb, my mom invades my space bubble all the time, ETC. also, my parents have never let me live a normal life. i never got to watch kids' cartoons like SpongeBob, or Fairly Odd Parents, or Adventure time. i only watched educational shows on PBS. i didnt get to play club penguin, or minecraft, or ROBLOX. I get a V-Tech learning console with crappy math and spelling games. i did assignments that my parents would make for half of every day in the summer, and winter break was FILLED TO THE BRIM WITH MATH. they sorta let up when i was 8, and let me play roblox, and watch kids cartoons, but the minute they found out i had autism, all hell broke loose. Everything was about me being a genius and getting all A+'s, (because albert einstein did it because he had autism) and extremely high expectations. originally, i was going to get facebook when i turned 16. nah, i got ALEKS, the math site, god dammit. I'm 17 now, and I cant have social media, 'Violent games' like unturned or any game that has blood (other than tf2), im not allowed to go to my friends house, only 1 hour of computer time a day, can't have any kind of privacy or door lock on my room. I need help. I'm 17 and my parents keep me sheltered from being able to live like a normal human being just because i have autism.

I can relate. I'm told that "I know you're smarter than this." And then there's "no pressure" and then I lose my only close friends I have frequent contact with (online friends) if I get anything below a B. And then there's the expectation that I eat something different every day (weekly cycle) when I can only cook in the microwave and the people who cook only cook once a week, if that.

I have a great long term memory and pretty good short term memory- but my shorter memory usually just focuses on stupid little details. As for how I am, not great. I've been feeling overwhelmed for quite some time but it seems like people around me don't really understand or try to understand. I guess the "not caring" part is worse.
@IndieAndy
@IndieAndy 5 жыл бұрын
Ooh like the tiny details? Yeah for me I remember the tiny details long term but short term I don't really pick on the finer details until later... I honestly don't want to try and figure out why but it's just weird to me... But it's me being me so it's all good 😄 Hmm I can understand that but just to try and maybe offer some words to you... It does get better over time. I still have those where I feel like no one can understand or wants to understand me. But I've just got to think of how far I've come and what I've got going in my life that's good and what are the positives about myself. Honestly it doesn't come overnight at all but I hope that you will find your way & find your path of acceptance ☺️👍

Yes to rubbish short term memory, daily While at the computer a will think 'I'll look that up' 4 seconds to open a new tab and click on the address bar and it's gone! I would put phone calls lower than 100, below chiseling stone tablets.

Life is ok at the moment. Just need a job with a lot of hours or for my musical talents to be recognised and join a classic rock band ;) Oh and I am very with u on the phone call thing. But I do say I will answer if it’s an emergency,or sometimes I’m just not in the mood to take incoming calls unless they’re family. But then I think that that person thinks I’m ignoring them but I am grateful for friends who understand this and I don’t get many calls now. I’ll make calls to feel less ignorant or if I am concerned about someone’s well being or even just arranging a social gathering.

Sir, these videos always helps :) That and it's the only guaranteed laugh of the week ;). Memory...wassat? My visual memory is brilliant so I tend to look at anything my lovely lady wants me to remember. That being one of my all time favourite tracks is Amnesia by Chumbawumba although swapping long for short (I didn't think it was funny either but it is an awesome song ;) )

I deal relatively well with making phone calls, especially in more formal settings. It also gives me the opportunity to ask for clarification of information, etc. right there and then. And I'll just keep pen and paper at hand and write it down. Receiving unexpected phone calls, however... ugh! The amount of phone calls I've passed down "simply" because I didn't expect them is criminal 😅
