Hi mate, loving the reviews, been watching since looking for opinions on HEDD stuff, one thing i keep wondering is if youy've ever listened to / reviewed / rate any Grado Headphones? I know they're basically hifi so maybe not flat for a studio, but was that impressed by some relatively cheap ones my old man had, and kept seeing reviews about the higher end ones from people saying they competed with stuff 3 times the price. Hi 👋 streaky . What is your thoughts against the headphones in wood reviewed 2 weeks ago? Thanks 🙏 for the review. Mm they add a second cable. For DJ I think it seems to me it s another model. They are great help for me to mic placement for drums and catch the nice interactions between mics and more or less avoid drummer choke your ears to quickly. Have a nice weekend . Cheers 🥂

Hey Streaky, I have huge , brief and descriptive question to ask you ,hoping that I wud get a clarification on this matter as I get confused when people talk about signal to noise ratio could affect the the sound if compressor, saturation plugins are added, without monitoring the gain of a sound in that channel. Key terms:- No Bracket - Question [ ] - my thoughts in my mind { } - example ( ) - specific So my question is..... When to do gain staging ,is it while before producing [ {sound selection(high signal to noise ratio at least not clipping )as assuming it to be ,when fader of channel is at reset 0db.... because while producing we may use plugins like compressor, saturation on that sound in channel in a way that it can affect the high digital volume (not clipping) , means that plugins still receiving high gain signal even if volume fader is pulled down ]...or or or is it after producing and rendering the stems at -10db such that whole sum of stem's volume shows -6db in the master channel [ ignoring the digital volume stuff*** and signal technicalities and producing the music as I want till it's finished producing ]

Love my pair! I have also Audeze LCD’s Beyer Dynamic T5P and Sennheisers momentum’s Grado 325e and I don’t listen to those any more since getting these! Perhaps it’s my source (Onkyo DAP) but I have not found them overly bright, no where near what the Beyers are like! I listen to a great deal of Americana folk ( Mary Chaplin Carpenter and such ) Alison Krauss and a lot of choral and early music both in hi Rez and ripped WAV from my CD collection and these cover all those bases well I find. Now, oh how it would be great if they came out with an in ear headphone!

Cool looking headphones. I would love to see a review on closed back headphones, so far I have not come across any that are truly quiet enough externally to not get picked up when vocal tracking.

this is a stupid Q cause ultimately it comes down to your budget. I bet someone could make a list of the best detail retrieval hp out there within every single $50 increase and I'm sure no headphone would occupy more than 3 slots. If you can spend a grand then go HD800s, if you can only dish out sub 400 then go with the HIx 55s

Hello, I want to buy headphone for mixing and mastering. I'm confused between this one Austrian Audio 65 and the beyerdaynamic DT 1990 PRO. which one I should buy. I mean which one is better for mixing and mastering. I use universal audio Apollo Solo as an audio interface. Which can not drive well the 250 Ohms headphones.

Don't do it bro! Check out Audeze LCD1's if you don't wanna spend more thatn $400 on cans! Everything, including the Adams have something that just doesn't sit flush with the signal(within 2db of spikes up or down in the 20hz-20khz range)and that's really what you want as NONE are totally flat!!!!!!!!!! Look for less dips and peaks instead! Headphones cannot be totally flat! IMPOSSIBLE!

@@vtkz I just tested ATCs few days ago and disappointed with low end response. Nice midrange but low end is so weak. You will need sub for them. Instead, try Dutch & Dutch 8c

I bought the x55, let them run in (bass-heavy) for a week, listened, then sold them. This is a headphone for mixing the mids/highs. The bass is controlled, but lower in volume compared to the rest of the spectrum. Comfortable and stylish, I really wanted to like these.

Totally agree! Rather have the classic Sennheiser 650's than these! But nothing compares to Audeze IMB! Specially LCDX's, but can do some work on the LCD1's instead, which is more in the price range! IMO if you want cheap can's to work on(not spend over $500 for headphones), Audeze LCD1's are the way to go! But that's me!

@@arrakianno pun intended at all, just saying that there are differences between those models. Just now I have ordered a DT 880 Pro to have another pair of cans rather than my old DT 770 Pro which I use for tracking. Main thing is that we are happy with what we are doing - the rest is marketing 😊

So let's ask the almighty question then....If you had to use a set of can's for Mastering(say you out an about in the world...Africa on a fucking Safari....and you still have to do some work on your laptop or some shit, with a portable DAC/interface)and you HAD to bring a set of can's to work out of....Could you work with these? Or would you use another set...for me it'd be Audeze LCD-X's...but that's me. These have too much of a scoop in the lower mids for my taste...didn't notice the tinniness. But it was a one time go so...who the hell knows really.

I have the closed-back Hi-X55. They sound like ear cancer.

The artificial leather pad fall apart after a year, and the they are expensive because only Austrian Audio make them, the plastic bit on the sides crack after some time and render the headphone broken. They are the weak points. I've now have after market pads made of real sheep's leather, and I've put thin steel wire wound around the plastic head adjustment covered neatly with electrical tape so they will never break.

I had high hopes for these, but hated them and returned them. There are so many eq issues to me. Other than nice build quality, the sound is ugly.
