The last clip has me on this, rather than it being a Steve clip: How did the Rob player go up like that while using his up+b? I know you can get tons of more height if you spam up rather than just holding it, but the clip makes it look like the guy did an air dodge up, without actually using his air dodge. I say this because, as he gains the extra height, he instant side b.

I think most competitive players know better than to challenge Sora offstage, so there might be less high level Sora “offstage shenanigans” clips and more just straight up edgeguarding clips which might not have made it into this video.

You’re only saying that because it was Steve. Steve may be the only character that can do this, but this was still a really good use of all his resources and the ability to work through off stage situations where you can’t even see the character animations properly is a clear marker of high level gameplay. I don’t love Steve either, but I can appreciate that this was really difficult to pull off

@@Wolfslash not at all, Rob’s recovery was also very high level. He avoided Anvil and Minecart, both of which would have killed him. He got overzealous with the fair, but as you can see from the clip it was the Steve’s quick recognition of the whiffed minecart that got him out of the fair. On probably 8/10 players that fair would hit and give Rob a chance to grab ledge and pull off a reversal. You’re literally just being salty cuz Steve

@@0oShwavyo0 I never said shit about Steve. Rob side-b at ledge instead of grabbing ledge is the goofiest option ever. He immediately dropped like a rock. Dodging cart or anvil is irrelevant if it’s putting him in the worst possible position underneath the stage. This Rob is getting killed by anybody in the roster at 123%. He literally set himself up to get killed.

That was just hella unlucky for the last hit to not connect on some jank shit, if it had the knockback would have given ROB a clear path back to ledge. If the Side B whiffed completely I’d say you were right but he was fully above the ledge when the first hit connected, that was just genuinely bad luck. And to say the Rob is a bad player when he immediately has the big brain idea to use freaking bair to both hurtbox shift away from the command grab and clank with the minecart projectile so that he doesn’t die to minecart is crazy. That was genuinely good play on both sides and you are refusing to see it. If the Rob side-b was so trash then why didn’t the Steve shield it?
