I saw the Ali/Foreman fight with my Dad when I was a kid....I watched the USA Hockey team win it against the USSR with my Dad....I watched this whole video and thought mostly of my Dad. Its funny how I thought, at the time, I just witnessed the best game or whatever.....but really it was my Dad.....I remember how my Dad and I laughed and cheered, how we consoled each other with the ever useful "we'll get'em next time"... I watch these old sports clips, and see my Dad....in 1994 we went to the 49ers game and watch Deion Sanders debut with the team, my Dad was sick, he could hardly stand. Deion intercepted the ball, his first game mind you with the 49ers. He ran down the sideline with the whole stadium standing and cheering. My Dad couldn't stand up by himself, he sat there yelling "What's happening, what's happening??!!!!" I came down off the stadium chair and told him Deion intercepted the ball....he smiled and yelled "Wohoo!!!" It was an incredible moment for a couple of sports fans. Maybe someday I'll thank Deion for that moment.....not more than a few days later my Dad passed away. The 49ers went on to win the Superbowl that year. I quietly dedicated that win to my Dad....its funny how a few sports clips can set your mind in motion, and remind you of things that maybe, had nothing to do with the game.

The most underrated part of this incredibly well made video is the rhythm and how well the video is synced with sound effects and music that perfectly matches the moments, and also the use of silence right before the music comes in and someone does something incredible. I literally JUST started editing, 2 videos in, and this is inspiring - and so are all these performances!

You've made a smart decision. Mr. Vincent is an exceptional talent. He has a bona fide gift for capturing precise moments and situations within sports events and competitions while simultaneously evoking in his viewers profound emotional and mental states. Though I haven't had a chance to do a deep dive to fully understand these dynamics or a full analysis of his methods, due in part because I am so fully enraptured by his presentations, I can say unequivocally that he should be a professional. The work I've seen on this channel is as good as any sports television network producer or even radio producer. Here in Boston, sports TV & radio is a career for even mediocre minds, but these producers (not the on-air or print "talent") often several times a week put out excellent content in several sports that captures our Boston/New England teams' highlights (and for many years and decades the lowlights, like the Red Sox this year, again!)), that is really good and sometimes really amazing and awesome. These are typically short, much shorter that what you'll see here on this channel. And at the end of any given season you can see on TV and hear on radio a synthesis of the entire season's defining moments that are quite longer and are excellent productions by any standards. Mr. Vincent is as good or better than most of the excellent productions I've see and heard here in Boston. He could earn a great living doing this work. He's that good!

The weeks leading up to the ropeadope were pretty epic I remember. No one have Ali a chance. Exactly how he fought that fight is how he sparred for weeks leading up to it. He just kept letting his sparring partners pound him for hours and hours. It's funny that everyone else couldn't see his stradegy. Everyone just kept telling at him to get off the ropes and fight.

Nothing will ever come close to the resilience, bravery, courage, intellect and skill Ali displayed in Zaire that night. For me, the greatest sporting moment of all time. Seriously, dwell on the essence of it for a moment, then watch it back and notice how he carried himself once George was on the floor, it was no surprise to him whatsoever, he had a vision - yet others couldn’t see even past the first round. “Some people can see farther than others.. if you can see it, you can be it” - Muhammad Ali, the greatest of all time.
