I would have instantly picked the Boy. He seems so confident, comfortable and stable. What really made the difference for me tho was how he played with his voice depending on what was he was singing. Especially on the "Hot Damn" parts i really liked how he delivered it with a more breathy voice.

In the duo she sometimes payed more attention to being sexy than getting her voice right. His vocals were so powerful and expressive, that's what she lacked a bit imo.

I think the song choice gave him the edge. He has the same vocal range as the artist and he was given pretty much all of the verses of the song. She was given the adlibs with not much room do much with them. They had great stage presence together, but I feel like she was screwed over with this song choice vocally.

The thing I don’t like about this is the fact that 2 great singers played against each other and made one of them knock each other out, regardless if they were even in strength/talent one of them had to leave, and in all seriousness and fairness she should’ve got higher in the competition by beating some of the least talented people but got knocked out due to facing someone of the same level. So what I’m saying is this show allows weaker talent to go further by knocking out greater talent by facing them with others who are even.

That’s kind of a straw man, though, isn’t it? Of course they should go up against equals. If they didn’t, someone could potentially use your logic to argue that pitting someone with a higher level of skill against someone with a lower level of skill would be unfair to the less skilled folks. You’d have Madi go up against someone who is not her equal, but rather, below her? What would THAT say about what the coaches thought about her talent/ability? It’s not a confidence booster, I’ll tell you that. If I believed that those who are meant to be guiding and mentoring me thought less talented folks were the level of competition I could handle, I’d quit. It’s really only a win if I can beat my equal or better. Just a thought.

it doesn't seem like anyone ever even cares about how much damage a rejection like this can do to someone who is young and fragile. that Uptown Funk performance rates up in the top 10 duets ever performed on the voice worldwide which is why it's in every new best duet compilation on youtube and it was Aydan and Madi together that made the performance so iconic and for doing so Madi's reward was yet another rejection and lets be honest all BS aside regardless of the public relations propaganda spewed by the coach at the time, the bottom-line is the coaches rejection decision is based on who will help the coach's team win......

They both had such an awesome performance together and I think they complimented each other in every way. And I don't think that Aiden meant any disrespect towards Madi with the "grinding" comment he made about them working so hard the night before so they could both give us a stellar performance! Because I have since read other comments about Madi being upset with Aiden and that she felt he disrespected her with that particular comment. Bottom line is I think that they both worked their butts off and gave us an awesome performance that night that is still being talked about as one of the best duet performances on The Voice.
