Considering he was hasn’t been changed yet, Yama would likely not take chances and just personally kill Ichigo while framing it as a crime of breaking into the Soul Society + the suspicion of Aizen ‘death’ since majority of the Gotei 13 weren’t well aware of his history with Yhwach barring a select few. Then again who knows if Yama would accidentally unlock more of Ichigo’s potential in a near death scenario and whether Ichigo would handle it that early on.

The reveal of Quincy Zangetsu has with it something that not a lot of people talk about. While Ichigo is fighting Kenpachi, Quincy Zangetsu tells him that despite a wild battle going on in the outside, his Inner World remains strong, and that it will as long as his heart remains fortified. However, when Ichigo learns the truth about Quincy Zangetsu being a "fake," all of the buildings immediately start to crumble into a flood, and only reform when Ichigo accepts both Hollow Zangetsu and Quincy Zangetsu as both being the real thing to him. It's a little thing that no one really touches on. Yeah, there's the bit about the rain, but seeing Ichigo be so distraught that his entire Inner World immediately floods and starts to crumble just shows how hurt he was by that lie, even if it was one told to keep him safe.

So, I kind of doubt _every_ Quincy has that literal manifestation of Bachy inside them like Ichigo does. I reckon it's a side effect of Ichigo's Shinigami powers being able to create sentient, independent-willed manifestations (zanpakuto spirits) in the first place. We know canonically for certain all Quincy have a fragment of his soul in them, and that carries some of his will with it (Ichigo cutting the Soul King with Blut all over him) but I can't imagine Ishida would *never* mention the super genocidal old dude living in his head.

I really love the contrast between Old Man Zangetsu and Yhwach. One takes on the role of a father-figure who initially only cared about himself, but grew to care for his son and finally step away while feeling pride and fulfillment. While the other always speaks of how he views all of the Quincy as his children, but he really only views them as expendable pawns that are meant to keep him alive. And after all of the terrible things he has done to the ones he calls children, he is ultimately brought down by two of his "Sons" (Ichigo and Uryu). A wonderful bit writing by Kubo to show of duality of the two sides of the Quincy Father-figure in the story!

The theme of Ichigo's inner power and struggles will always be an integral part of the saga even if they are seemingly resolved. Still it's darkly ironic that his epic hybrid power had him as a replacement Spirit King candidate. A fate worse than death and worst still it's implied tbat control of the Spirit King and it's power is nothing more than a tool of domination for the Soul Society's leadership and especially the nobles.

I just want to clarify, maybe the translation of the subtitles was incorrect but.. in the last episode, old man zangetsu did not say he was only holding on to a last bit of Ichigo’s power, but that the power Ichigo had been using up until now was only the fraction of his strength that old man zangetsu was not able to hold back.

I don't think every Quincy has an inner Yhwach but Ichigo did because of his shinigami powers. OMZ even though he is Ichigo's quincy powers is still a zanpakuto spirit. He always helped Ichigo in his shinigami form. That's what Ichigo realized in acknowledging him as Zangetsu too. OMZ just didn't have a name. This is why in the anime Oetsu states that they were both real. His smaller blade represents his quincy/shinigami powers because it is a zanpakuto.

In its released form, his large blade was his hollow/shinigami powers and the smaller sort of wakizashi, was his Quincy powers. As Nimaiya said, white was like his asauchi. Ichigo had an inner Yhwach because he's a shinigami with Quincy blood. Quincies were humans so they don't have an inner world, they don't have zanpakutos.

@@lamefart Yes I know Quincy's don't have zanpakutos but by Ichigo having shinigami powers his Quincy powers manifested as a zanpakuto spirit. His quincy powers are now a part of his shinigami powers because Ichigo acknowledged OMZ as being Zangetsu too. One blade represents his original hollow/shinigami powers and the other represents his quincy/shinigami powers.

I think Old man subconsciously happy with the growth of Ichigo as he always put trust on him and also now Ichigo's quincy talent has awakened. Maybe he will absolutely enjoy trains Ichigo how to use and control blut vene or other quincy abilities. Obviously , those two power, shinigami and quincy can co-exist together inside ichigo's body. If OMZ wasn't actually Zangetsu, why did his appereance change when Ichigo was training against Aizen? Ichigo being in Bankai state should have no effect on his Quincy powers. Also, why does Hollow Ichigo refer to him as Zangetsu? Also, why is it that his "Quincy" powers know the secret Final Getsuga if it's a Shinigami Technique? And if he lost his Shinigami powers after the Final Getsuga, wouldn't that make him human/Quincy? In wich case he would still have power that he could use. Actually, Why didn't OMZ, being his "Quincy" power, take any action after Ichigo lost his Shinigami powers? So Many Questions.

As you have seen, OMZ was "pretending" to be the Original Zangetsu, whether his appearance changed during his training doesn't really matter because OMZ was still covering most original Shinigami powers and can anytime ask or get from his true Shinigami powers when needed(well you can say it is part of the "pretending") .. I don't recall his Hollow calling ONZ as "Zangetsu". He was very persistent that he IS Zangetsu (originally) during Ichigo's Vizard training. His old Bankai technically can be seen as somewhat mix or a variation of a Vollstandig than a true Shinigami Bankai that's why Byakuya told Ichigo that it appears like not a bankai during their first fight, (it is also MAYBE the reason why Ichigo's GS is long ranged, like a Quincy attack, compared to the original GS of the Shiba clan to be point blank/melee attack, but this is just a THEORY so don't pin me on this, but Isshin's GS is melee) that why manga readers at this point of the story usually call his old bankai as a "fake bankai" His Quincy knows what is the Final GS is part of the covering up and pretending part, and his Hollow and ONZ practically know each others power as they are still Ichigo's power(this is an assumption as we can see they are not antagonizing each other, rather they are very cooperative to each other. You can say both are his "alter ego" and anyone's alter ego are still technically themselves) Losing his power after the Final GS is basically losing ALL his powers, quincy included, because ONZ was still the one teaching Ichigo at that time with again the help or cooperation of his Hollow/Original Shinigami side, so they are giving up BOTH their powers at that time... But again you can regain it or find a workaround (for plot reasons of course because this is a shonen anyways) example is Ichigo's Fullbring Arc. P.S. Kubo said in his last interview that "less is more" in his way of making a story, meaning he is not the typical "spoonfeeding all the time explanation" author so most of the time you have to connect the dots for yourself or re-watch/reread some of the previous episodes and read between the lines that foreshadowed the story to connect especially some important part of the Bleach.. I hope my explanation helps and make sense 😊

Final Getsuga is a Quincy technique. Similar to Letzt Stil (Quincy ability) which grants the user immense reishi at the cost of all their reishi after using a final attack (Sound familiar?). So Ichigo did not lose his quincy powers but his reishi, that is why it took the blade that Rukia stabbed Ichigo with during FB arc containing the Gotei 13 reishi to get Ichigo's power back.

What I find great about Ichigo's power is that he doesn't really get stronger per se. Rather his full strength is being held back and released piece by piece throughout the series. Ichigo's situation is like Zaraki's situation. They both have in truth tremendous powers but it is unknowningyl, subconsciously suppressed because it would kill them.

While it was a nice twist the Inner Hollow and old man Zangetsu were really his Shinigami/Hollow and Quincy powers respectively it now brings up a new question; what about the Visoreds? In their inner worlds are there two beings - Zanpakuto spirit and Inner Hollow - or is there a single being - Hollowfied Zanpakuto spirit which is the Inner Hollow?

That and everytime Ichigo was in mortal danger it was White who protected him, hell you can look back at all of whites appearances and you realize everything he was saying to Ichigo wasn't a threat that if he slips he will take over him completely but warnings that if Ichigo slips up, he has no choice but to step in to protect him which he knows Ichigo is scared of. Even what white says to Old man Zangestu about "how that Ichigo's strength will be his" or whatever takes on a new meaning in which he's telling Ichigo's Quincy powers that him(Ichigo's Shinigami and hollow powers) will be the source of Ichigo's strength not him.

This revelation about Old Man Zangetsu always made me wonder how Ywach's power interacted with other Quincies. Do they all have an Old Man Zangetsu watching over them, deciding when to give them power and being willing to kill them if they step out of line with Ywach's desires? Or is this only how that power appears to Ichigo, a being with a Zanpakuto? If the first option is true, did any of the other potential Old Man Zangetsus grow to care for their hosts/charges the way Ichigo's did?

I've always considered both spirits as 2 sides of the same Zanpakuto similar to Katen Kyokotsu. The best example of them taking their true form is during the Dangai training when they merged. That episode to me goes hand in hand with the recent episode. To me personally I don't see Ichigo as a Hybrid. I simply see him as a Quincy who can transform into a Shinigami. His Shinigami powers that take the form of Zangetsu revolve around the fusion of Quincy and Hollow. This fusion however is usually in a state of imbalance due to the conflicting nature of Quincy and Hollow. What gives this form unbelievable power is the strength and will of the Shinigami to keep both reiatsu aligned. This process requires the Shinigami to fully understand his own nature and be fully committed to mastering themselves and all that power. Ichigo himself in the early days has proven that he needed a father figure type to teach him how to handle himself so Zangetsu took the form of Yhwach as a way to instruct. Then when it was time for Ichigo to understand the deeper meaning of his own power then he showed him what lays inside of Zangetsu himself which is Shiro. Zangetsu and Shiro are the literal reflections of Ichigo and his Hollow. When Ichigo finally understood what he was finally looking at then he officially became the strongest Shinigami ever. I mean as a Quincy he could literally just absorb an enormous amount of energy from the Soul Society and transfer it to Zangetsu for a tremendous Getsuga. I feel like this is the true finale and the rest of the show is just an exaggerated demonstration of that power he possess

I don't believe so. The powers are too different. I believe that Old Man Zangetsu managed to manifest inside Ichigo because of White Zangetsu influence and how normally zanpaktos interact with their users. A way to help Ichigo

I think it's because Ichigo's a hybrid his part of Ywach was able to merge with white and use his "Body" to manifest himself. As you see the two of them merge inside Ichigo's inner world since the first appearance of white in the series.

Old Man Zangetsu is one of my top 3 favorite characters in Bleach. He always was there for Ichigo and cared so damn much about him to the point Ichigo was so distraught at finding out the truth and deciding both sides together would be Zangetsu. It also shows off the evolution of a Soul Reaper with Base -> Shikai -> Bankai -> Full Fusion with Zanpaktou like with Mugetsu and Ichigo in The Blade is Me. The foreshadowing and development from the beginning is just *chefs kiss*

0:53 Tbf, he never tried to pass off as his Zanpakutou spirit. He was just the one appearing all the time because Ichigo didn't acknowledge White as being part of his inner power. The only time he "lied", is when he told Ichigo the name of his Zanpakutou... and I have a theory that explains even this, making it so he was actually not lying. White told Ichigo (I forgot in which chapter) that Zangetsu was now inside of him because he'd gotten stronger than the other guy (Old man Zangetsu). By this logic, Zangetsu isn't a Zanpakutou spirit, but a mere soul-like entity representing his Shinigami powers that resides in the strongest of Ichigo's two Zanpakutou spirits (White and Old man Zangetsu). At the beginning of the story it was in young Yhwach, but it ended up moving into White at some point. That's why Old man Zangetsu wasn't lying when he said told Ichigo his Zanpakutou's name during his training with Urahara Kisuke. 8:21 isn't the moment I had in mind, but it's another moment that kinda hints/proves that this is the case.

If Shinigami powers can be inherited, does that mean they’re always inherited? It would’ve been interesting to see ppl like Byakuya & Yuroichi address what it’s like to somewhat be destined to be a Shinigami. What would Ichigo say to Karin & Yuzu on their inherited potential? Would he have to wrestle with some backwards bias about protecting them by keeping it a secret? How do they feel about being hybrids themselves, even tho they’ve seen hints of their potential? It would’ve been nice to see a flash forward of their own reconciliation with this knowledge. I know they won’t have hollow powers per say, but I think Fullbring potential is in play for them as well.

For plot purposes o don't know how you wouldn't think it makes sense since he is part Quincy and has use abilities like Blut Vene without realizing it. That means he could do this with other quincy abilities as well. He wouldn't really have to be trained since ichigo literally learns everything in battle.

@@futureelement924 yes i can see how he could do it, but why would kubo make him do it? it wouldn’t make sense for him to learn hirenyaku as he’s got flash step and it wouldn’t make sense for him to be able to use a spirit weapon, mainly because he’s already got zangetsu, something he’s much more experienced with and how would he just accidentally use a spirit weapon or any quincy ability accidentally. didn’t he accidentally use blut vene after coming into contact with yhwach, triggering his quincy abilities awakening, mainly so that he could unlock his horn of salvation form? what i’m saying is that plot wise it wouldn’t make sense for him to just learn all quincy abilities out of the blue, or even just use them, as i don’t see how they could be worked into the story even if it gets rewritten, which is basically confirmed to happen. i just don’t see ichigo just shooting reishi arrows from a weapon he just unlocks from what could only be an asspull

I think the anime pretty much deconfirmed this in the last episode. When he says he won’t ask Old Man Zangetsu for help, the short blade disappears, and the other does after he says he won’t push his inner hollow away anymore.

I would love a scene where Old Man and White discuss about Ichigo or the three have a little bit of comedic banter together (maybe something akin to Ichigo telling White to chill on the berserk happy fight or something similar), it would be something I'd find truly enjoyable as well as showing that Ichigo truly accepted everything about them.

I have a question, does the armor on Ichigo’s new outfit in the final arc really count as a Fullbring ability? Because I’ve been in a debate with others saying it isn’t his Fullbring but just one of the clothes given to him by Senjumaru Shutara.

i don’t think so. pretty sure that he doesn’t really have access to his FB powers anymore or just doesn’t have a use for them. also i don’t think there’s anything hinting at them being his fullbring as the two uniforms at least, look completely different. but i don’t know if there has been anything said about it resembling his fullbring

@@kronik9317 But the armor chest piece is shaped like an ‘X’ and his Fullbring/Soul Reaper outfits also had ‘X’ patterns everywhere. Plus, in the Brave Souls game, a version of Ichigo who has his Soul Reaper, Hollow and Fullbring fully awakened, he has more armor including a huge ‘X’ on his chest.

@@ghostspider2056 BBS isn’t canon, so there isn’t much of a point bringing it up regardless of if it carries useful information, an example would be anni aizen i did search google to see if it has a definitive answer, and what i found was somewhat of a split, but for the most part, people tend to agree that it’s meant to represent his fullbringer abilities. so i guess you’re right. personally i thought they would’ve gone with something different, some design that was similar to his fullbringer powers before the reishi sword and ichigo gaining his powers back, but i also never really paid attention to it, also i thought that ichigo “lost” his fullbringer abilities, so another reason why i thought it was more just a design choice

@@kronik9317 I know the game isn’t canon, that design is even described as an “alternate universe”, so it’s a different version but the potential is still there. It think it was even designed by Kubo maybe. He did lose it, but there was still enough for him to regain his Soul Reaper powers, the Fullbring part even effected the design. Potential he can still regain his Fullbring on his own if he wanted to. Maybe the anime might give him extra scenes of using his Fullbring moves like the black pinwheel one.

@@ghostspider2056 yeah, all or most of the specific character designs are drawn by kubo. at the very least it’s the anniversary characters, which i find very cool that kubo is still doing stuff like that (which sounds dumb to say as that is his job after all, but i hope you get what i’m trying to say) i highly doubt ichigo will use any form of fullbring power in the anime. i was discussing with a guy who said the exact same thing for ichigo’s quincy powers and i feel the exact same answer is appropriate for this as well. it doesn’t serve a point for ichigo to use any fullbring abilities in the anime. bringer light or his specific fullbring, it wouldn’t make sense to use it nor would it be able to be tied into the plot very well or even at all

I think if you were to do every instance of foreshadowing in the series I think you should split up the videos based on what the foreshadowing is based on the different factions or so within the series. Like you can easily split it up with different videos titled "EVERY INSTANCE OF FORESHADOWING | THE SOUL REAPERS" and "EVERY INSTANCE OF FORESHADOWING | THE QUINCY"

the old spirits, who were not egos but actually souls of their own, have passed, the soul of the weapons is ichigo's soul now and the remnants of those souls are part of ichigo. technically you could say ichigo's weapons are unique since they are formed from him, by him. and that is only true of nimya but even his weapons are made of hollow paste to make a counter ego to help a swordsmen, kinda like how the espada compress some ego into a weapon to gain an intelligent better Id.
