Laws should be changed to where when you sue these lawmakers for unconstitutional laws, all reparations awarded to the defendants come from the personal finances of those that introduced,sponsored and voted to pass said unconstitutional laws. absolutely no tax dollars are allowed to be used on the behalf of the politicians, they have to use their own. while we're at it pass laws that require all politicians to abide by the same laws they pass, no exceptions. would stop 90% of these idiots from even thinking about gun control when their own finances are on the line and it would save the tax revenues instead of wasting it on B.S court cases.

Prior to roughly 1830-1840 conscious and willful violation of ones oath to the US Constitution was an executable offense, the federal laws changed or "vanished" about the same time dueling was declared a no no. As an early American and Constitutional Historian I can not find when the law was removed or canceled, it just vanished from federal code. It still should be an executable offense, trash should be treated as the name says.

The reason these legislators and governors keep doing this stuff is because there are ZERO consequences for them. They don’t have to pay to defend against the inevitable lawsuits. That is done by the taxpayers. And they don’t get charged with anything because of their “qualified immunity”. All that happens is that their unconstitutional laws are struck down (maybe). That’s the problem with our system. The Supreme Court can rule something unconstitutional and if a subsequent law is passed that violates that ruling you have to start all over. The way it should be is if scotus ruled an AR15 can not be banned (for example) then any law banning AR15s is automatically invalid and those who passed it are penalized in some manner.
