I'd say... Yasmeen is not underrated. She may be 'under'celebrated but she's top rated for sure by the fashion community. She even got international covers. as far as i know, her cover in VS was very high. She's not celebrated much bcs fashion was just starting to be televised in 1996/7 just when YG is retiring. However....... Im glad u have her in a video. Just want to watch videos of her 😆

Im curious about this story because Tanya was under IMG models at that time and many renowned HF models were still part of the agency (even up until today) like Daria Werbowy, Gemma Ward, Karen Elson, Jessica Stam, Carolyn Murphy, Karlie Kloss, the list is endless. Did IMG models screw her over her earnings/scammed or was it her mother agency back in Belarus that screwed her? If IMG models screwed her over, why did they target her alone and not many of these other money makers? I believe Tanya’s story but was just wondering who exactly actually screwed her earnings and why did they not target other models if it was indeed IMG. And wonder why Tanya never sought legal recourse for her lost earnings like Karmen Pedaru. And I’m interested in the part where she got blacklisted. Did they really do Tanya dirty by blacklisting her and ensuring no designers utilised her services? I feel so sad for Tanya when she always shined in Versace, Dior by Galliano and JPG. A career that never was for her.😔

@@irvinglorenzo85 I'm not sure but some claim that Tanya slowed down because she noticed she wasn't getting a lot of jobs anymore and to counter this "fade", she stopped to check with her education, returned shortly, and when she returned she did not get a lot of jobs. So she stopped again, and just focused on her education.

Tanya is wonderful, she is other worldly, she is a natural mover and has an intense gaze that draws you in. Talking of intensity we have Yasmeen Ghauri. The most captivating runway model of all time. People are drawn to her the most cause she reminds us of our ancestors. She doesn't seem to be from our time. She is like a goddess statue that came to life. She has the statuesque Ancient Egyptian body from our past and like the Ancient Egyptians she too has become an enigma. Never seen or heard from again after 1998. She is regal, exotic but has warmth too. And her walk is graceful, entrancing and dramatic. The most distinctive beauty of our times.

Agree. I love that walk she does when she has her gloves and bag and flicks her gloves hand before turning back to walk down the runway. So sophisticated. From another era. Monte Carlo/Paris in the 50s. She is effortless and oozes old Hollywood.

@Pivoslayrova You raise an interesting point and you are talking about evoking and acting which is different to a model whose natural personality is captivating. Yasmeen is still the most captivating, its not just her distinctive walk. It's her natural aura which has an intensity far greater than most models. This intensity along with effortlessness captures the buyers and photographers on the runway in order to sell the clothes season after season. Evoking, acting and becoming a character is fine if the designer requires it but most models are themselves on the runway that is why they are booked. They have the walking ability and look. Also these models you mentioned personality wise can not be distinctive if they are constantly being different characters and are not themselves. I would also add Shalom Harlow to your list. I think you are referencing couture shows like Galliano and Dior and yes they became more theatrical after the mid 90s.

Fierce, strong, beautiful, elegant, and determined runway walk with the attitude doesn't guarantee a model to be recognized, praised, appreciated, or rated so well. Almost all these girls on this have those fierce and amazing catwalks. It's sad and ironic to think. Now we have a few overrated models who have terrible, stiff, and dead ugly walks like kendall, bella, gigi, taylor hill and a few names of now model generation.

Great video as usual....and the disclaimer says it all: These girls are extremely successful models, at the top of their craft and careers who did not (by choice or lack of opportunity?) leveled their career to a household name/celebrity status by being in the tabloids, dating rock or movie stars , trying to break into acting or being omnipresent on social medias... Being a "public " model did not define them ,they did their job beautifully then were able to turn off the "all catwalk star persona" without any qualms....By this definition Christy Turlington is an underrated model!

I think a lot of common people that don't come from the fashion industry or the fashion world fans like me should have to thankful to Victoria's Secret Fashion Show along 00's which had introduced, raised, and emerged many incredible underrated top models including on this list. I've already known a few names on this list bcoz of VSFS and follow their Instagram, like Inguna, Eugenia, Caroline, and Michelle. They have beautiful, amazing, strong, and fierce runway walks and ad campaigns along their career but maybe not overrated like Gisele, KK and Karlie. Well thx 00's VSFS for having them 😊😊❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻.

That first walk of Tanya's show was such a disappointment. I'm sorry but Versace of the mid 2000s was not that good. Literally no models of color... I think that was the SS 2008 collection. Some say it's the best of Donatella but I can't take it that every models were white Blondie's or what.... I feel sorry for that. Her best collection for me was the SS 2018. Good representation of models of color. Balanced and Inclusive. And she paid tribute to Gianni's heritage... Superb!
