It's strange that I collected Thundercats back then but only learned of this playset a couple years ago. Sure enough one vintage toy store I visited shortly after actually had it but it was missing one of the statues and was out of my price range. But maybe someday, it'd certainly be a cool addition to a collection.

You proved the point, so few know about it...and sadly, it is too expensive, even broke. Thanks for the view and comment.

I always (and still as an adult colector) wonder why toy companies don't make more modular toys akin to the He-Man reboot from the late 80's, especially given the built-in incentive to buy additional toys. The couldron could have been the second piece. As a kid I would always fantasize about a full scale tomb playset complete with a treasure chamber and traps. I woiuld also fantasize about a Castle Pludarr playset too. I'm sucha geek LOL

YOu are so right. The cauldron was a miss, and I looked online for anyone making add ons, so you know it would have been good. Thanks for commenting.

I didn't have this set or the Mumm Ra decayed form, so we'd take the Mumm Ra toy and wrap him up in tissues to recreate the transformation.

I LOVE the Thundercats and have owned at some point all relevant 80’s LJN figures except for a few that were elusive; Ram Bam, Lynx-O, Tygra, and Bengali. I have never owned the Thundertank either castle. I did not preorder Super7’s Cat’s Lair nor will I preorder any other castle that may be releases, but I will preorder any and all ships and vehicles Super7 releases.

You're someone who knows what they want. If you love Vehicles and SHIPS, you go get 'em. I did not get Cat's Lair and this Mumm Ra Tomb is from 1986, so its figures for me.

Great video! Thank you! Always wondered about "Third Earth." Presumably, we're in the First Earth Era, which Mumm-Ra alludes to at one point in one of the episodes. Thundercats takes place in the Third Earth Era. So between those two time periods is . . . Middle Earth? Was it written that way to include the possibility of Tolkien crossovers?!
@Windrave
@Windrave 7 ай бұрын
As a child I never got that back then. For some reason I figured Mumm-Ra was old enough that "First Earth" was a time before Mercury or Venus. Nowadays that "Middle-Earth" is probably our present times considering that was a time when the US and the Soviets could have wiped each other away instantly.

While watching it, I liked to think that Middle Earth somehow was worked in there too. Honestly, I think it could fit. And that 2nd Earth could be Middle why not. But I do find the alluded background very interesting. Thanks for the comment.

Problem with the main play feature, if memory serves, the only way you can get that mumm-ra was a mail away offer
@GENXPERIENCE

I THINK you are half right. Mumm Ra the mummy was Mail Away. When this playset was released in 1986, he came with it! Of course you still needed Mumm Ra the Everliving, which was card backed, to complete the play. Thanks for the view and comment.

Nice eye. When I was looking for pics of playsets and ladders, I saw that and didn't believe they had one. It said complete...they meant with extras. But I figured few would notice. GOOD JO

UNOPPENED, or STILL IN BOX? Thousands, like 2 to 3 thousand. If you get one loose, and it has ALL working parts, your still looking at 600 dollars.
