Definitely loved the background! Maybe consider coming back to it for Stephen King reviews! Also I'm really glad you spoke about Doctor Sleep only being a sequel because it follows the adult Danny. I stopped about halfway through. I just lost steam. I'll go back to it one day, maybe it just wasn't the right time for me to read it. I really didn't view it as a sequel though, so I completely agree with you there. I'm just starting The Outsider then I'm going to read a couple different authors and go back to King. Good stuff as always!

Yh I agree with you on thinner. I have read the reviews about it and they weren’t good but I loved it.

I was watching this while my friend was here yesterday and I literally said ‘he has to mention needful things’ and you did! I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE APPRECIATES THAT BOOK AS MUCH AS I DO

I think King's most underrated one, which is also my absolute favourite is Lisey's Story. Such an amazing book and I hardly hear anybody talk about it. That story gives me chills every time.

Could you do a review of Insomnia from 1994? I didn't enjoy it but was wondering what you thought about it.

I haven’t read Insomnia yet, because I’ve heard bad things about it. I’ll probably read it sometime this year.

If you haven't already, I'd totally recommend reading Dolores Claiborne! I think it's my favorite King. It's also the "sister novel" to Gerald's Game because it happens during the same eclipse and deals with similar themes. Also, King talks about boogers a lot in it. Just thought I'd include that.

I own Dolores Claiborne, and trust me when I say that I’m planning on reading it very soon!

Have you seen the movie Gerald's Game? By Mike Flanagan, who also did the Doctor Sleep film. Chilling. Great adaptation.

I thoroughly enjoyed Thinner, Doctor Sleep, The Long Walk, and Needful Things. Thinner as actually my first experience reading King and Needful Things following shortly thereafter. I don’t think a fair amount of people would’ve liked Doctor Sleep not matter what it was about because how can The Shining be topped. Sad to say because I think a group of vampires going around the country killing and then moving on to somewhere else is terrifying.

I loved The Institute. It’s my number five favorite. So good. I don’t know if it’s underrated though. Even on good reads it has a very good rating and reviews. I also absolutely love Needful Things . it’s my number four favorite King book. Excellent book. Thank you for sharing.

People tend to enjoy The Institute more often than not, but I find that not many people give it the attention it deserves

Hiya Harry, This was a fun video!!! I've always thought Needful Things was extremely under-rated. I LOVED that book!!! Just brilliant from cover to cover! Gerald's Game, though, not so much. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was good, but definitely not as good as some of King's other stuff. And as for that "most disgusting scene" you mentioned (not wanting to give away any spoilers), I'm guessing it had something to do with a bunch of flies and a pack of wild dogs? If so, I hear you loud and clear! I was totally grossed out by that scene -- but I also thought it was one of the best parts -- CLASSIC King! Have a great day! Valerie.

LonesomeDoveCall I actually was talking about a different scene, so if anyone is reading these comments, look away because this is a HUGE SPOILER! I was talking about the scene where Jessie removes the handcuffs by slitting her wrist and all of the skin on her hand peels off 😬😬😬
@lonesomedovecall8224 жыл бұрын
@@otherworldsthanthese OMG, YES! "I'm peeling my hand like an orange!" Another awesomely gross scene!!! And you're right -- now that I'm thinking about it, that IS a bit grosser than the flies/wild dogs scene I mentioned earlier. Probably because it was self-inflicted.

I love that you said The Institute isn't his best book and it's certainly not his worst book, because that's exactly how I felt when I read it. I wouldn't call it his best book, but DAMN did I enjoy it and love it.

Since I made this video I realised that if The Dark Tower series didn’t exist, maybe I would enjoy Wizard and Glass for what it is. It’s not a bad story, I was just bothered by the 900 page break in the journey

@@otherworldsthanthese See for me, Wizard and Glass is the kind of story where I would reread that flashback chunk alone, which is actually what I plan on doing next month
