I've been on the Skywalk a couple of times (as a guest of someone else). The first time was terrifying. I haven't been hiking on the headwaters trail for at least a year. It IS beautiful. I need to get back there this fall. Finally, thanks for speaking well of Eureka. This is my home and we aren't all criminals and bad people and there is so much that is beautiful here and so many beautiful people. 😊❤ Great video Scott! Enjoy the fog!

Thank you Scott for the tour of Headwater Forest Reservation; I didn't get a chance to visit when I was in Humboldt a few months ago. The little guy on the miniature tire hanging from the tree was adorable! I agree that Sequoia Park is the most beautiful city park. I stayed a few blocks from there when I was in Eureka. It's a magical place. I did not go on the skywalk because being that high up especially on a suspended bridge terrifies me. 😩😬. I'm so glad you touched on Eureka's reputation as the most dangerous city in Humboldt County. Every time I tell someone I want to move there, I hear "why? It's crime ridden". Eureka "calls" to me like no other city in CA has ever done. My plan is to move there in the next year or so. I do need to start researching neighborhoods because I don't know which are considered bad and don't want to end up in one with higher crime. I have heard that the Cutten and Myrtletown and those away from the 101 corridor are the safest. Probably the most expensive too. Thanks for sharing your day with us, Scott. I really love these day in your life videos.

We have a similar redwood park outside Rotorua New Zealand, I agree with you when traversing 23 bridges, cargo nets plus 3 flying foxes, ending with the leap of faith attached to rope being the quickest way to the bottom. wow, went close by my house on this one. You're finding my secret special places in Cutten and area. The baseball park is a favorite place to eat my Stars cheese burgers for lunch. This is also part of the new McKay Redwood Track park. I guess you did not get to Falk(ghost town) in the Headwaters Forest. Also did not get to the unpaved trail which goes up to the Redwoods. That is the site of the last protests confronting the logging Co. and stopping the destruction of the big trees. I am glad you found my favorite flower garden by the zoo with all the Dahlias. Over all a really good one Scott, thanks.

Scott if ur hair is graying that could be what is making your scalp itch. A dermatologist told me to use a cap of listerine the gold reg one before washing my hair and just massaging it on my scalp & leaving it on for a few minutes. Needless to say it worked. I am completely silver now and I still use it. Love ur videos I have been watching for over two years although I do not comment very much. You make coffee look so yummy lol. I'm the opposite - if I wash my hair too often, my scalp gets try, so I'm at 1x a week for the best results. My point? No judgement - we must each do what works for us. I like the way you don't worry about 'stealth' but instead focus on not interfering with others. Oh man! You took us to some gorgeous places today - thank you. We began the day with smokey skies and that smell, but as I remained outside for quite a while. it cleared nicely. Oh, agree on the zoo thing, but that walkway was tempting to me.

Soooo nice Scott , I was there in Eureka during my 14 year full-time Adventure and let me tell you that place was very interesting, I think I stayed in the WinCo parking lot there and the Walmart with the encampment right beside it and they sure did put on a show😂 I am currently looking out my window of my new place after leaving the Big Bear Lake area I have a view of the mountain however it's flaming😢 I am so blessed right now to have utilities with central air all the things that I did not have for 14 years❤ the adjustment is a slow process for me as I go to my storage near Palm Springs as soon as it's cool enough to do so😂 it's all about flames smoke and praying that the Santa Ana winds don't start, there have been many fires along the way and Nomads cannot always just drive away from everything, because sometimes it's in all directions and that's the hard part Scott.. meantime back to my chai tea and watching the rest of this video ❤ Line Fire 😢

Stunning city parks. Thanks for the tour. Was wondering what containers you used for your water filter setup and what that lava type lamp is called?
@StaticCamperVan
@StaticCamperVan 4 ай бұрын
The containers are food containers from a restaurant supply store. That’s a salt lamp. I have videos on both those in this playlist if you’re interested: kzbin.info/aero/PL9PWzpL1cZIHqSZqC7ho6jhfWSQaLisGF&si=ds4X1YRItPcCSQsZ

Lost Coast landslide can be seen if you search for it. I remember your video there. the landslide is where you use to park and have coffee and walk the trails. It's gone

I only use distilled water for everything. I used to have the worst skin. Then, I started showering in distilled water. Over two years now, I couldn't imagine going back to toilet water showers.

Tea tree oil good to use. Pure unsecented soap is good as well.

The parks (and drive to & from) and garden were gorgeous! Nice to be able to play the day by ear if you want instead of needing to stick to a plan. Seeing you use that Staub fry pan made me wonder if it has become your favorite or if you still have a preference for the DeBuyer pan. The Staub definately seems easier to maintain.
@StaticCamperVan

It depends on what I’m cooking. The de Buyer is much better for eggs, which I’ve been eating a lot of lately. Definitely like having both of pans. I should cover this in a video at some point

Hi, so I rented one of these little vans for my vacation starting in a few of weeks. It's just an empty van but I've picked up a pad to sleep on, a couple of water jugs and stuff to cook on, a small bluetti and a national park pass. Lots of other little stuff. I figure I'll either find out that this is not for me as a solo traveler or maybe it'll be a goal to get myself set up with a comfy little rig for mini road trips throughout the year until I retire (which may never happen....hahaha). I live on the Oregon coast and I know you've mentioned some problems finding places to stay in Oregon. I think I'll head toward Mt Shasta down I-5. Probably a night at Crater Lake. Do you have any suggestions of nice places to park along that way? I think I'll be scared my first night or so but after that I'll probably get more comfortable. This park looks beautiful. I think maybe a visit for the next trip. kl

That’s a very good way to try out vanlife. There are lots of friendly towns along the Oregon coast. But more and more places are becoming a bit unfriendly to tourists who don’t stay in their hotels. I’ve always liked Florence. I’ve been told Coos Bay is good as well. I hope you have a fun trip!
