To make the learners feel better about forgetting endings to adjectives Im a native speaker of Swedish and I messed up my adjective endings like 5 times in a research project today (it happens to us all)

I have found that I often need to know whether a noun is an en-ord or and ett-ord in order to tell whether something is singular or plural. As an example, if I know that barn is an ett-ord, I will know that barnen means "the children" and not "the child".

I have a question. Why do you put ‘number:e’? I’m curious.
@FunSwedish10 ай бұрын
It's like in English 23th or 23rd just that we write 23:e (tjugotredje). The e stands for the e in the end of "tjugotredje".

Tja! Can you do a video on the word Sådär? My textbook doesn't really teach it that well and I'm super confused as to what it means.
@FunSwedish10 ай бұрын
Yes, of course. We do talk about it in our Swedish courses. Maybe you should check them out if you want to learn more Swedish with us :) Here are the links for our courses. Live courses: elansutbildning.com/courses/ Pre-recorded courses: elansutbildning.teachable.com/ But "sådär" is our word for "so so" (even though it can have more meanings depending on the situations). In what situation have you heard it? Here is an example dialouge how it can be used. Hur mår du? = How are you? Sådär = So so (not too good) Varför? = Why? Jag börjar bli sjuk = I am getting sick.

I’m taking your beginner on demand class and I noticed all the classmates live in Sweden. Am I at a disadvantage because I live in the US? Will I still be successful in the class? Tack så mycket
@FunSwedish10 ай бұрын
Hej! Happy to hear that you are our student. The course is adapted for anyone who is a 100 % beginner no matter where they are in the world (I assume you are in the 100 % beginner course). Sometimes everyone is in Sweden, and sometimes everyone is abroad (or it's a mix). It can vary a lot. But you will learn no matter what, so don't worry about it too much :) I know it can be easy to compare to other students, especially if they seem to know some already, but people have different advantages before starting the course. Some might have heard more Swedish (perhaps because they are in Sweden or just because they have been around more Swedes) but they are terrible with the grammar or writing. While some people, who are not in Sweden, are great with this! It can vary a lot. But in the end, the course is made so that everyone will learn a bit of everything (vocabulary, grammar, spoken/written Swedish etc) in order to master the Swedish language. If you have any question about the course you can send it to the teachers and they will help you further :)
