That socket kit is pretty slick. Although, I would skip the cheap battery-powered impact and instead opt for a breaker bar. I struggled with this problem years ago. The common 4-ways and others didn't have the right combinations. So I bought dedicated sockets and a breaker bar. I've used that made-up kit now a total of 0 (zero) times. So, that cheap impact would have gone through a lot of needless charges and probably melted under the seat of my truck by now. Instead, I still have the same breaker bar and aockets ready to go if ever needed.

I have the same set, and yes I got it from Amazon, Love them. I carry them with me along with my DeWalt Impact Wrench and Torque Sticks for my Truck, and Fifth Wheel.

I bought a similar kit from Home Depot a few years ago and have used it many times. I carry it around in my Suburban all the time and even take it with me in various rental cars. Works great. Don't know how I lived without it.

A nice set of sockets. I believe in being prepared to handle issues, so I always travel with a fairly complete tool kit. That includes, socket set, wrenches, pliers, screw drivers, electrical tools, small wood saw, hack saw, etc... and of course Duct Tape! Yes it adds weight, but I just plan for that. About five years ago, at a campsite, a fellow with a travel trailer came in, and for some reason, the battery on the front of his trailer had fallen off on the highway. It tore up the wiring as well. It was a Sunday evening, so we directed him to a near by Walmart to get a battery, and we dug though our tools and supplies, then repaired and re-wired the front of his trailer so he could get on the road the next day.

I bought one of those socket sets after seeing it last time you showed it. Use it every time I rotate tires on my vehicles, and also when I changed a tire that had a screw in it on our travel trailer during a cross country road trip. Great thing to have on hand!

I was glad I had those double sided sockets plus a variety of other tools when I broke two leaf springs on the highway. Changed them both in a parking lot!

We’ve had them for years in the auto repair industry. This is a great brand for the DIY or entry level auto mechanic. I need to grab a set for my tool bag I toss in the truck with my impact.

That socket set, Milwaukee impact, torque sticks and torque wrench stay in my truck. I had 2 blowouts within 60 miles apart towing my boat on a long trip a few months ago, those tools and a trailer aide made life much easier on the side of a busy interstate.

Bought one back when it came with a the carrying case, charger, battery, AND a socket set for $90 on Amazon. This thing is a great value for the price. Keep it in the truck, mainly for the TT, but have used it to rotate the tires on all my vehicles. Powerful little sucker. Good for lowering and raising the stabilizer jacks, too. No more hand cranking!

Great information. I have two sets of those flip sockets, they were gifts to me. They’re more handy than carrying a large socket set plus they take up less space. I already had Ryobi impact guns.

AWESOME kit! I need to order it to keep in my truck. I always carry my impact driver when traveling, but I always end up stealing the specific impact sockets out of my tool box in the garage when I head out on a trip, then put them back when I return.

I just bought a full metric and SAE set, with ratchet from Harbor Freight. Got all the sizes needed, except for a 1-1/8 for the water heater anode..which I found at a thrift store. Add in a set of extensions and I have everything needed. At about the same price.

Really funny you uploaded this today. I was thinking about how KZbinrs always ask for comments and rarely respond. Obviously there are too many at times but I remembered that you replied to me at least once and specifically on the Greenworks 1/2" impact. My comment was regarding whether or not it could break loose the lug nuts on your truck or, really, that I would have been interested in seeing that. I have an '06 F250 and have been thinking for years about a solution to carry on the truck on the rare occasion I need to change a wheel on the road (have had to do this twice over the years) or even just when doing routine repairs and services since I don't have a tool that can break the 165 lbs/ft torque other than a breaker bar and cheater pipe. I like the set that you showed in this video. I have the three piece (no case) Harbor Freight set that gets me by for now but I can see picking up this set in the future. Regarding the 1/2" impact it seems that the best choice is the M18 Milwaukee but there was a huge problem a short time back where they "upgraded" the wrench and they seemed to be breaking at alarming rates. Videos around that time said Milwaukee decided to go back to the older design. Might be an interesting topic.

Tire techs should be required to have a set of thin walled sockets. Stopped in Kansas City to get the Super Duty’s wheels balanced. Asked them not to rotate, that was ignored. Then they rammed a thick walled socket into all 32 holes. This sort of service doesn’t ruin my day anymore, in fact, I expect it.

I would not use sockets like that on nice wheels, you could beat the piss out of them knocking off paint or coating/chrome. On nice wheels you should use a socket with protective sleeve

NEVER EVER use an impact drill on your stabilizer jacks. This destroys the jack. I have seen it happen. Just NOT a smart thing to do.
