I've got a black star fly that has a great gain sound for a battery powered amp. Heard a guitar jam track where he used this pedal and was blown away at the sound. Love the sound, the looks. Don't have the money for it yet but it's on the wish list

I made comment on Insta that Ola's demo put me off. I hope I didn't sound snarky. I run a stand-alone tube power amp with tube-based preamp pedals as my foundational tone. Your demo has you concluding much the same as Ola did. That you would use it in the front of the amp. So really it might not work for my purposes, but the results were similar between you and Ola in a way. Thank you Gus. Love you.

Im using the same head and its by far my favorite out if all the ones ive tried out over the years but i cant seem to track down a matching 4x12. You should totally help a brother out gus

@@firetv i have the vertical 2x12 but really want to find a 4x12 but where i live they are not that common sadly even the local guitar center in portland has only had like 3 of them since they came out. There just about as hard to cone by as the schecter hellriaser tube head

Me too..I love my 50 club MK ll head..it sounds amazing and also want to find the 4-12"..I see Gus says he uses them with V30's so we'll keep looking.

@@firetv holy shit gus g replied to my comment. I need a sec im totally fan boy-ing out right now. ..... Breathe ... Ok im good. Have you considered how a set of vintage jensen mod 30s would blend in with the tone. Ive been using a custom made 4x12 stereo cab with 2 jensen mods and two eminence legend speakers in an x but i have it wired so the left plays one the jensen and the right uses the Legends and i gotta tell ya it sounds awesome with this cab. As for the 412 ht series mk2 4x12 cab i may just have to buy one new unless the guys at blackstar would be ok with letting me demo one for a few weeks to see if its what i want to get cause they only go for a couple bucks short of a grand but id like to know what its all about before i commit to a purchase like that. I mean in my eyes a grand can get alot of upgrade parts onboard dsp circuits and handful of hipshot hardware to install into my clients guitars but wow im still kinda blown away that you actually replied to me. Your like seriously one of the people that i heard for the first time and said thats what i wanna do.....you probably hear that more then you would like but i mean it. This is the best thing thats happened to me in a very long time so thank you i needed this. Keep on shredding bro.

I hear lots of popping while you play DI. I have this same issue on my unit and it is driving me NUTS. Blackstar will not return my emails about what is causing this. Any ideas?

Ok so I have one of these pedals....and 2 diff 4x12 cabs. 1 with v30s and one with gt1275s....my question is this....at what volume do these dudes play live? Bc when I go past 12 o'clock volume.....my speaker cabs sound like they are coming unraveled....it's awful

F' it , I'm not buying a KLON CENTAUR or a TS808 HW tube squealer , Hell No , I'm getting the Dept. 10 Blackstar Fire In The Sky explosive distortion modulator!! No doubt , %100 !! The only possible drawback , I can see is , the darn valve sticking it's little pecker like head up out of the box but , I could tell even on KZbin that it produces the kind of gain/ distortion I'm looking for. Hell , even the cat digs it !!

I never understood the need for distortion pedals. The distortion should be created by the amp (boosted by an overdrive in front in most cases) - that's about it. Or use modeling instead ;-) But each to its own.

All different methods provide different results my dude sometimes u can get a better or more preferred tone or feel from your pedals than the amp. One of my bros who is one of the best players in person i know used to play high gain marshalls and emgs now he gets all His shred tone from pedals going into a clean only fender blues jr amp. I personally get my shred 80s tone from a boss sd2 gunning a tony city golden plexi pedal

What you have done is awesome, your sound however seems to suffer a bit from volume inconsistency and makes it a bit hard to judge properly the sound of the pedal, I got here because I'm looking for independent reviews on the Cab simulator section, I can't have a Cab at my home so to know if the simulation is good is actually a good selling point, I am currently using IRs on a HX Stomp, so delegating that DSP to another pedal is a great option for my setup. :) If you have the chance to compare the Cab sim to your own Cab recording, that would be amazing, there is no such video online, it is not hard but let me know if you'd like to try and have any questions on how to do it.
