You’re correct! My husband and I do have an agreement though. He pays the household bills and I fix the house up. I do pay extra on the mortgage principal because interest stresses me out. I have a spreadsheet for our mortgage as well. I have knocked off a lot of years. He’s walking around the house extremely happy. He didn’t see my vision until those numbers started coming down drastically. You just have to find someone who will work with you. Definitely not someone who is broke.

My ex looked at me crazy when I asked her for $600 a month. She packed her bags and left to move to a studio apartment charging her $1700. Yes they’re that dumb Ps/ a little more context on my situation (updated 6 hours after post) I’m 28, i didn’t even explain to folks our situation. So my ex is Muslim.‘I’m Christian. She’s two years younger, she never told her parents about our relationship and never introduced me to her friends. Girl was basically living a double life lol. But what caught me was how she took PRIDE in not doing anything, it was disgusting, then she caught this attitude acting like she was better than me (while still making less of course) when she got a job in the city. The girl would refuse to put gas in the car. Even $20. Everything was a fight with her, to her she insisted on not paying for anything. I was so shocked as to how a woman could really think it was that low down of her man to ask her to do anything. I honestly was questioning my own sanity at one point thinking “do women really think us men just throw rose petals at their feet?” I took this girl to la, Miami, 5 star restaurants, we literally went out to restaurants every week. Applebee’s and outback were basically budget restaurants for us. She never had to cook, I can count on one hand the number of times she cooked. I bought her bags and shoes at $700 a pop. I know she came from a poor family but i was truly disgusted how she felt disgusted by the idea of reciprocity. Also we never had sex. We did it twice early on when i booked a nice hotel for us she saw on tik tok. I did a lot of that too, booking hotels for us. We would go stay in a hotel and go out to a restaurant for the weekend just for no reason. I didn’t get a single introduction, even a hello to a friend or anybody. I was expected to be faithful, spend all my money and basically even convert my religion before I could even talk to her parents. I spent well over $50,000-100,000 on that relationship. She lived in a studio that was the size of a bathroom on upper west side for 2400 a month for a year. She spent half that year unemployed (she graduated college in 2020 and immediately moved to the city). I figured her parents were paying for it but still. Really? 2400 a month and 6 of those months she had no effing job. She finally got one and then I convinced her to move to my family home with me. Mind you my family home is worth a million. So we had more space obviously. I asked her for $600 and she put up a fight against that. I truly was shocked. It wasn’t even about the money. Understand I spent tens of thousands on the relationship and all she ever did was job hunt and put on her makeup. She never stocked her own fridge. She never cooked dinner 2 nights back to back. This girl didn’t do shit.It was depressing to see as a man and as boyfriend. I did everything from ordering the takeout to taking out the trash. I’m a productive guy. She had the “my money is my money and your money is our money” attitude. But here’s the thing. How you don’t cook, don’t have sex, heck don’t even introduce your family and you still have that attitude? I told her “good luck finding another man who’s going to take that offer for 4 years. You got all this pride and ego because you finally got a credit card with a 2000 limit and a job paying 60k like I don’t make your income from my damn phone (that’s another story) but to see how fast my ex caught an attitude and ego before she could even care to be a girlfriend. That’s what was hesrtbreaking. Some of you women get into these long back and forth of gaslighting us men and it’s like you don’t even TRY to be a girlfriend. That’s what’s gut wrenching. I told my ex if she cheated I wouldn’t even give a damn because that’s how little effort she put into our relationship, when you sit there and treat your man like he’s some servant and your the Persian goddess who steps on people 😭 it’s demoralizing holding your hand, laying down in the same bed with you, and even referrring to you as “my girlfriend”. I hate to say something so dark but my ex truly made me understand why men beat their wives. And I never hit a woman in my life to this day. This girl tried to start arguments, record them and act like I was gonna hit her. Mind you we are living in my mom’s basement. She always used to hit me so much and complain about how she was abused by her dad and brother and how Muslim men are abusive. I told her “so you brought that trauma over to black men and you now want to put us through what your father and brother put you through but you don’t have the backbone to stand up to the men in your culture so you subject other backgrounds of men to your abusive bullshit to make you feel worth something. It truly is sad how worthless your father and brother made you feel. But see you failed as. Girlfriend and don’t even care to be one at all. All you care about is inflicting your internal anger on others while taking everything you can. Women like you are truly disgusting and what’s sad is you’ll find an sbusive man just like your father (if he was abusive). But after being your boyfriend I can tell you one thing. He won’t be an abusive man who walks into your life. He will be a man who snaps and turns abusive because of a woman like you”. Let’s just say I don’t think my ex still has that job anymore either. What’s funny is her job was literally remodeling a website lol, it was an entry level job and she felt all because she was in a rented office space in the city she didn’t have to respect the man who was driving her to work, feeding her, doing her laundry. Oh and I took back all the gifts I bought for her. She said it out her own mouth. I gave her the best years of her life”. Yet that’s how you treat the man who gave you the best time of your life? I’d hate to see what she do to the average Joe.

It’s sad and embarrassing with how true some of this is. As a woman who is financially stable, has a stable job, owns her own car, has a spreadsheet of her own budget and has no debt it was easy when my husband and I got married and combined our finances right away. I used to be broke until I fixed that mess and worked crazy hours to earn more; I didn’t need ANYONE to save me, I had to save myself from the consequences of my actions and not repeat them again. I wish more women didn’t sit around and wait to be saved. That doesn’t improve you on the inside, it just delays the core problem.
